One thing is blaming Inzaghi for his little share in the loss to Atlético from a micro perspective (couldn’t have done better in the first game, should have taken another approach in the second game), another thing is to conclude that we would’ve had chances to win it with this squad. No way Inzaghi is to blame for the general outcome of the CL campaign. In general he has done more than remotely expected in CL which is why I am more than ready to forgive his mistakes against Atlético which he’ll certainly learn from.
On another note even though Dortmund had more chances, I’d never have the feeling Real would lose. It was somehow like the 0-1 game in Meazza in 2021 where we were the better team for the large majority of the game, but you simply know they’ll turn up because of the individual class and experience they possess.
