this.on the end of the day, at least we will see how good we are vs a top 3 team in the world. And if we get eliminated, we can be focused on the league. Just no embarrassment and I am fine with it.
PSG? A.Madrid? I dont imagine Liverpool cared much about who they drew, as long as they avoided PSG tbh.But for Liverpool, Inter are the worst possible draw for them.
Come on now, that scoreline was very flattering for Milan. Liverpool had like 3x more shots, 60+% possession and missed a penalty. If Milan had walked away with anything from that game it would have been robbery.fucking bbilan gave a run for their money at Ainfield. We should not be afraid of them
Realistic is when you base your judgment on the actual matches and not just the results. There is nothing realistic about saying we'll get torn apart or eaten alive by the likes of Liverpool. Please tell me against which opponent we were the utter shit?!Realistic is knowing that we've been utter shit against big teams and I don't see how it's any different against Liverpool who's been a complete powerhorse in CL. Their wingers will eat our wingers alive.
So get off your high horse and not all fans have to be over optimistic or delusional to call themselves fans.

I apologise if you think I am on my high horse, I did not mean to upset you, I guess we just have different mindsets and that's totally fine as is your opinion, apologies brother.Realistic is knowing that we've been utter shit against big teams and I don't see how it's any different against Liverpool who's been a complete powerhorse in CL. the thing is, how often do we play against a team with incredible wingers like Salah/Mane/etc? If its Darmian and Perisic, while their work rates will help, I think they'll get torn apart by the pace and sheer intensity of those guys. The counter to that is you keep the CBs more defensive when we're in possession, and they maybe play slightly wider to counter the isnide winger threat, but then that gives Liverpool the chance for late midfielders to make a real impact and we'll be more reliant on De Vrij.Realistic is when you base your judgment on the actual matches and not just the results. Football is played 11 vs 11, not wingers vs wingers! Which part of making the opponents 10 times stronger and us 10 times worse exactly realistic?!
I love Klopp's interviews. Always comes across as a good bloke. An error meant the original draw for the knockout phase, in which the Reds had been paired with FC Salzburg, was voided. The redraw later confirmed a return to San Siro for Liverpool, with the away leg set to take place in Italy before an Anfield return against the Serie A title holders. Read on to see what Klopp had to say in the minutes immediately after the draw when speaking exclusively to Liverpoolfc.com…
Jürgen, for the second time today, what’s your reaction to the draw?
I had to wait 54 years to play at the San Siro for the first time… and now it’ll be twice in three months, so that’s good news! All good. Of course, it is a tough draw, definitely. They are the league leaders in Italy; a good team in a good moment. We will see how things go until we meet in February.
They’re a team with several players who have plenty of Premier League experience…
Yes, obviously Sanchez and Dzeko we know well – and Lautaro Martinez is one of the most exciting strikers in the world, probably. Simone Inzaghi is there, his first year, last year they were champions, but it is the Liverpool way – it’s never easy, but still possible, so let’s give it a go. It’s a proper Champions League tie, so all good and I am absolutely looking forward to it.
Do you think it was the correct decision to redo the draw after the error in the initial one?
Definitely. I saw it live and I thought, ‘You cannot let it stand like this, there’s no chance.’ Definitely, they had to do it again.

Liverpool FC — "A proper Champions League tie" - Jürgen Klopp on Inter pairing
Jürgen Klopp admits he is relishing ‘a proper Champions League tie’ against Internazionale after Liverpool were pitted against them in the last 16 of the tournament.www.liverpoolfc.com
No apology needed, that's what forum is all about.I apologise if you think I am on my high horse, I did not mean to upset you, I guess we just have different mindsets and that's totally fine as is your opinion, apologies brother.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing how effective each team's press works in this game, as I think our hunt when we lose the ball has improved a lot. I'm not expecting to win for technical reasons rather than tactical ones.Inter will get dominated in possession here, something Inter are not quite used as they like to be in control as well. Inzaghi will have to come up with something new here, cant use the same approach as in serie a. Its just difficult to see Inter playing counter attack against an EPL side considering how slow most of Inters players are.
A big issue will Liverpool's high pressing on Inters half when Inter have the ball though, this is something we have seen in the past that Italian teams really do not like, they get stressed and makes tons of mistakes. In serie a teams rarely press the ballholder much until the midfield line, but in the CL against class teams its different.
High probability of Inters players getting sent off in these matches, due to the high pressing when inter get the ball and high tempo when defending.
Either way, more surprising things have happened in football than Inter beating this Liverpool, but surely the odds are heavily against it.

Football is a team game. Darmian and Perisic alone are not going to face and stop Salah and Mane. Did Vinicious do anything significant against us in two legs? It's our whole approach which could expose us or help us against any team. Not our winger vs their winger or our LCB vs Salah.the thing is, how often do we play against a team with incredible wingers like Salah/Mane/etc? ok so guys our schedule LMAO

Great storyline for the English papers for pool to eliminate both Milan teams from the competition
And forget about Tottenham's loss to Dinamo in the process. Also for the narrative Serie A is a farmers league.
