Was about to complain about Dimarco not playing, then I saw he's 19 and just took part in the U20 World Cup which I didn't even know existed. I thought that match where he scored a free kick and assisted the winner was a qualifier or something. Anyway, Petagna does seem like a turd. Also if the rumors are true that Di Francesco is bringing Pellegrini with him to Roma, I'm utterly convinced he'll flop. Other teams have also not brought some of their senior nationals who are eligible. For example, England are missing Dele Alli, Dier, Stones, Sterling, Rashford, Luke Shaw, etc... Italy are probably the only full strength squad, perhaps the only one missing is Romagnoli.

Unfortunately for Italy, some of its more established talents missed the cut off by a year... like Belotti, Verratti, El Shaarawy, Spinazzola... Belotti missed the cut off date by 11 days!

Italy's best department is certainly the mf with Benassi-Gags-Pellegrini...they are quite admirable tbh
I kind of like Barecca's game more than Conti but they are not even comparable tbh. Conti is a RM if you ask me...not a classical RB by any means,Barecca is more solid in df and not a attacking LB...Caldara is decent and probably better than Rugani,could be world class for Rube,which is a shame since he claimed he is an Interista before going there...doesn't mean anything to some players apparently,"professional" first...or money first
Berardi could be a good, good player but not smth great,bonus points because he has some lovely grinta spirit and Interista heart,we should be after him,Candreva won't be here forever with his 30 years,probably Spalletti doesn't rate him that much,shame...Berna could be either a total star or total flop tbh,not sure what...Petagna is a joke of a log,and Chiesa...I like him lots,more than Berna tbh,he is destined to be a great someday...soon

The Slovakian Prime Minister says the Italy vs Germany game was a farce

The Slovakian Prime Minister has called for a UEFA investigation into Italy’s 1-0 win against Germany, branding the game “an orchestrated farce”.

The result ensured Italy and Germany both qualified for the European Under-21 Championship semi-finals, at the expense of Slovakia, who consequently ranked second among the teams that finished second in their respective groups.

“I trust UEFA is investigating what happened and that it creates rules for the next tournament which favours sporting performance over any unfair agreements,” Robert Fico is quoted as saying by Corriere dello Sport, in a letter to UEFA.

“The match was severely tarnished by the little dignity shown by Germany and Italy in their fight for a place in the semi-finals.

“It was an orchestrated farce by the players of both national teams.”

Slovakia U21 boss Pavel Hapal previously described the match as “extremely disappointing, a disgrace and not ‘fair play’.”

I think this generation is over hyped. We do have one of the best squads at this tournament, but I doubt we reflect on this squad in 10 years time the way we do with some of the Pirlo teams
