I guess he meant "the other" then. :)

Cos I thought there's a 3rd competition in the Turkish League. Kinda like how they have EPL, FA Cup and League Cup.

Insane things happening in Turkish Transfer Market recently... I will type a summary here soon and tell you all the details, such a horror movie for Besiktas fans, hoping for a happy-ending. :rollani:

Well here it goes...

100% Done Transfers so far, mostly Turkish players:
(Remember we have 10 foreign max in squad and 6 foreign max on the pitch rule in Turkey, so finding skilled Turkish players is crucial, very very important.)

Besiktas:
Mustafa Pektemek (ST) - 4 million euros
Manuel Fernandes (MC) - Transfer fee will be announced soon, probably around 4 million euros.
Egemen Korkmaz (DC) - Free Transfer due to contract expiration with Trabzonspor.
Veli Kavlak (Winger) - 750k euros
Tanju Kayhan (LB) - 1 m euros
Burak Kaplan (AMC/L/R) - 650k euros

5 of those transfers made for rotation/backup, Fernandes has a first 11 spot though.

Galatasaray:
Johan Elmander (ST) - Fee will be announced soon, probably around 8-10 million euros.
Selcuk Inan (MC) - Free Transfer due to contract expiration with Trabzonspor.

Fenerbahce:
Emmanuel Emenike (ST) - 9 million euros
Orhan Sam (DR) - 3,5 million euros
Serdar Kesimal (DC) - Fee will be announced soon, probably around 3 million euros.

Well, there was a weird situation that both Besiktas and Fenerbahce was interested in Mustafa Pektemek and Orhan Sam (both of them are the players of Genclerbirligi) and apparently clubs made an agreement and choosed 1 of those 2 players so both Besiktas and Fenerbahce oficially announced that they signed those players (Besiktas - Mustafa and Fener - Orhan) at the same time (this morning).

Now, the most important situation, the one i was talking about: (Warning: It will make you feel watching a Brasillian TV Series about love and shit)

Ersan Adem Gülüm transfer.

b-432033-Ersan_Adem_G%C3%BCl%C3%BCm.jpg

He plays as a Central Defender. He's born in Australia but he's Turkish actually, so very precious for Turkish teams. (as i said at top of my post) He was in Adanaspor last year, a medicore 2nd division team and kinda no-one knew him until Besiktas loaned him from Adanaspor in 2010 summer transfer season. We had no idea who he was but he played simply brilliant, one of best Turkish defenders as of now and he could already get a spot in the National Team.

Now here is the problem: Our Transfer Committee Leader Serdal Adali was an old Adanaspor director. And he is friends with Adanaspor chairman for 30 years (since high-school). So he had great relations with Adanaspor board and thus when we loaned him, Serdal Adali agreed a 2 million euros price as the buy option for the player, however it wasn't on papers, so it wasn't official. :palm: A professional like Serdal Adali shouldn't make such mistake and make it official no matter what kind of relations you have.

Anyway... As the time goes by, Ersan started to shine and got all the attention in Turkey. And in those days relation between Serdal Adali and the chairman of Adanaspor broken, no-one knows why. So Adanaspor's chairman said on live TV 1 month ago that "we didn't promise a price for Ersan. His price is currently 4 million euros and Besiktas must give it if they want Ersan." It's not classy at all, but in the end he is a chairman and he's trying to get the most money he can... Serdal Adali doesn't want to negotiate and don't want to give 1 cent more than 2 million euros. But Ersan is a Besiktas-fan since his childhood. So it's his dream to play in this team and also fans loves him so much. He also keeps telling every single second in his twitter that he doesn't want to leave Besiktas and talks how much he loves it here.

So after all those discussions our president Yildirim Demirören personally went to Adana yesterday to buy Ersan. He offered the 4 million euros Adanaspor chairman demanded. But guess what happened? HE FUCKING REJECTED OUR OFFER! and wanted 5.5 million euros. And of course negotiations broke down. Ersan worth that 5.5 million euros, there is no doubt and we can afford that indeed. However, it would be really humiliating for us and also our board is really sick of Adanaspor's price adjustments. They are just trying to milk us as much as they can.

And guess what happened? Only 30 minutes after our negotiations broke down with Adanaspor, it has announced that Galatasaray made an offer and the offer is accepted by Adanaspor instantly.....

And now, no one knows what's going to happen. Ersan is a Besiktas fan, no doubt. But if he doesn't sign a contract with Galatasaray then he will be away of football pitches for a year, which would be a very very hard situation. We, Besiktas fans are just waiting and have no idea what's going to happen next. If Ersan declines Galatasaray's contract offer and if he manages to persuade Adanaspor board somehow, he will become a legend in before of Besiktas fans. But if he signs Galatasaray, he won't be the one i will be angry at.

From a professional point of view, everything works as intended. But not classy, not at all.....

How much did you pay in the end? What made the move possible?

After our rejected offer, Galasaray made an official offer for him and the offer was accepted... But Ersan said that even though he is a professional player, he just wants to wear Besiktas jersey, the team he always supported. So Ersan refused their contract offer and afterwards Adanaspor had no choice but accept our previous (4m euros) offer for him, so he is ours again, and after this resistance most of people thinks that he will become a legend with us, if he's not one already. :)

Welcome home Ersan! :)

Real Madrid invited Besiktas for Annual The Santiago Bernabéu Trophy which will be played in 25th August. :)

Edit: Apparently we will decline the invitation as we will have a busy fixture at that time. :( (League and Europa League Play-Off Round)

Cristiano Ronaldo came to Istanbul as a guest of Besiktas' president Yildirim Demirören. We should take advantage of it, drug him and make him sign a contract, we can't find such opportunity again... :(

(No need to mention he will be benched as long as we have Quaresma! <3<3<3)

maybe when he is 34-35?...

Actually few months ago, after our Quaresma, Simao, Fernandes and Almeida transfers he has been asked a question and he answered "I would like to play for Besiktas in the future" but i guess he was just being kind. :P

I believe it is possible, when he is over 33 of course. I wouldn't mind to see him here even when he is 33 or 34.
