I needed a visa when I visited the US last month and it was a pain the ass. Sorry to hear that we're returning the favour, although I do think that same rules should apply when traveling both ways. Hopefully visas will be a thing of the past at some point.

Going on my first cruise in just over a week.

Anybody been before and any tips? It's Mediterranean cruise. Fucking american style so they try to charge 20 dollars a day for tips, as well as tips on everything we buy and do on the cruise, fucking hate tips.

Will be stopping in
Messina sicily
Mykonos
Santorini
Istanbul
Athens - will walk to the acropolis
Naples

Any tips for things to do or places to eat would be good.

Stay away from the Grand Bazaar. It's just a grand trap for stupid tourists. There is also nothing worth seeing in some other places that foreign tourists crave to see, such as Taksim square and Istiklal street.

Walked next to a church in Italy, there was a football pitch, I pick up a ball, and lo and behold...

I'm going on a 3 week trip to Slovakia in the summer. (yes I need to book in advance because of my work). Will do it by car so first I'm driving to Vienna so I can visit Carnuntum on my way to Bratislava. Will stay a week in Bratislava and after that I will go to Zilina/High Tatra and spend a week there. On the way back I will visit Prague but because we have some people from Slovakia on this forum I was wondering if they have any tips when visiting Bratislava, Zilina or the High Tatra. Interesting to see if I can spot some wildlife there. Any good accomodations near the mountains?

I'll go on a trip at the end of the year to Brazil and Argentina, with a 2 day stop in Uruguay.

I'm quite open to the plan as it's still under development.

Rio De Janeiro probably the starting point and Buenos Aires the ending point.

It'll be over Christmas and New Year's so I am a bit concerned at what may be open or closed. Or overbooked.

So the plan is Rio De Janeiro, Florianopolis, Porto Alegre, Iguazu (not sure if it's easy to spend an afternoon at the border in Paraguay) from Brazil, then Montevideo and Punta del Este from Uruguay, and then Buenos Aires and Cordoba from Argentina.

A bit over 2 weeks for all this. I was told it's okay to skip Sao Paulo, but if there's enough time I'll see if I can stay a night.

Any suggestions? Very open to change this as nothing is booked yet.
Considering Mendoza over Cordoba, that's the only other idea in mind.

I've been working for a company that builds plaster powder plants around the world. In 1-2 months, I'll go to work as a supervisor in a factory in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. I'm ready to take any useful advice of those who have knowledge about the region.
