Yeah. We need to get young players. But they need to be better! But they can't cost too much!
undoubtedly we will also need to give him loads of game time, but cant afford for him to make any mistakes and should drop him for bastoni the second he makes any issues

Better than paying grandpas too much.

Don't you guys fancy accounting numbers? Palacios salary is 700k/year. Amortization 1.2m per year for a 5 year contract. Show me similar calculations on e.g. Ricardo Rodriguez or Hermoso to show that's too much?

I don't see a reason for excitement yet. Most probably this guy will take few minutes as a substitute, before being send on loan somewhere, and finishes as a plusvalnza.

Not sure what you're suggesting, RR or Hermoso would be as affordable as Palacios?

I've sad a few times in this thread, I'mn really happy to be signing Palacios, I hope he hits his perceived potential. Another Bastoni would be an incredible transfer.

it's not like that Palacios are scouted by Mirabelli or Fassone. It's the GOAT of football directors, Beppe, Marotta, who discovered him.

it's should be fine. His masterclass transfer are always brilliant and worked amazingly for Inter right now.

I don't suggesting anything. Just saying that I don't see why people are so excited about him, when he will barely play, and there is a chance to be another Agoume.
But Hermoso would be much more useful right now.

I won't judge until we see how things evolve. I've not seen him play, and I try my best to trust in marotta.

I'm one of biggest Marotta advocates here, but he also make mistakes. My point is that Palacios was never a primary target for us. Hermoso was. My feeling is, that Palacios is a some kind of a compromise between our finances and the will of the new owners to get young players. This is the reason of my concerns

Yep, he's dirt cheap, less than 2.5M total annual cost.

Don't have one.
Hope we found another bisseck but man that’s a ton of money for a player no one ever heard of 2 months ago
Imo we are paying premium fee because of his physical attributes and how he moves with those characteristics. As I wrote couple of weeks ago, he is quite of a unicorn player in that sense. And mind you, that's the only thing worth looking and evaluating when you are buying players from shit leagues, especially defenders.

Physical attributes, especially extreme ones (and this dude is 1.96 cm tall left-footed defender) will stay with the player in whatever league you put him while defending ability may vary coz you have different quality of leagues. On that stuff we are obviously making a risk, but we ll see soon enough I guess. Long story short, if you have a certain amount of money to spend, and you are looking for someone younger, you spend it on this type of player. Bisseck is another example of this scouting philosophy.

Why do people write he might be the next Bastoni? How is this a realistic expectation?! Bastoni proved himself in Serie A and costed more than Pavard (more than €30M)!

Palacios might be the next Gravillon, considering his price tag. However I have total trust in the scouting team and sporting directors - this time they obviously took their time and filtered out potential candidates.

His stats and early performances allow me to expect that Palacios will be better than Gravillon. Or at least his resale value will be higher than the fee payed to acquire him.

Bastoni did what?
He had less than 200 minutes in the league when he signed him

to be fair, bastoni's fee was inflated with youth plusvalenza. If you net it all off, he actually came for 13m euros or so.

by the time Bastoni signed for Inter, he'd only played 3 serie A games, so its hardly proven in Serie A tbf?

Cool we finally did something !!!!

Tho we should have sent Salcedo or Correa the other way. I mean if those guys aren't good enough for a small team in Argentina they should just retire
im sure we'd happily, happily accept their retirements if they offered

Yes, I know his price was inflated and Bastoni did not play much in Serie A, but for those who had eyes to see (like scouts), it was enough to notice how he can handle it at that age. That's what I've meant by proven.

Let's hope Palacios will do much better than Murillo, as he might cost in the same range including the bonuses.

well, to be fair, those are pretty much the same scouts who brought in Salcedo, Lazaro, etc :D

and the same scouts who brought in Palacios :)
