Actually Genoa are playing nice possession football since he took over but their defense is pure disaster, especially when they got caught on counter attack. He definitely has a philosophy how to play but lacks experience and time.

Probably not the best coach to hire after you sacked the original manager in november. Genoa are in a points race and they have Motta who is still maturing and experimenting with his philosophy and tactics. Wouldve liked to see him get the summer months to build and train a squad.

From what I can understand, he has some "revolutionary" ideas. But if that is the case, it was silly of preziosi to hire him, when what you need is a coach who can have an immediate impact to try and avoid relegation.

And I can understand that for Thiago it was hard to say no to such an opportunity, but maybe he should have declined it, what he needs is a team he can mould with all the time necessary.
