I have no knowledge of who the investors could be but I don't think that was even the discussion topic here.

Sorry my point was we are lumping "American investors" or rather "rich investors" into one bucket. My point is there's a huge difference between even Fenway, let alone the sovereign wealth funds of the Premiership, than the owners in Serie A

Sanctions in Europe are enforced Europe wide. There's basically no scenario where Italy is safer for investments than England...
England aren't part of the EU anymore so different sanctions could apply. EU applies sanctions block wide but there's no rule/law that those outside it need to apply the same.

No, but if we base our view on the Ukranian war, they've been pretty much mirrors of each other. England may have been harsher in some individual cases but at a high level the sanctions are pretty uniform afaik.

Does anybody really believe theres enough political will in europe to hinder a bio $ investment into anything?
Common guys unless the dude is the right had man of fucken putin nobody s gonna stop an investor from buying any big club in europe.....

We re currently playing a fucken WC in quatar and most politicians are playing along and the quatari dont seem to mind that they blew 220 bios on a World cup that only brought them so so propaganda....

Roman Abramovich was just stripped of his club and investment and people think that the Chinese or Arabs are not taking notice?

The Qatari’s spent hundreds of billions in preparation for the World Cup for investment reasons?

Maybe US investors look for a return on their investment and is the it main goal, but the wealthy Arabs are looking for something else.

To tie this back , diplomatic relations between countries matters and is definitely part of the decision making process.

Sure. But it's not contradicting what I said. Americans might find Italy interesting because the valuations are low and if they can "overtake" the country, the top league, they might have different visions for the future, how to develop it (for profit making, obviously).

Yes as i said unless your the right hand man of a warmonger who just started a war you wont get stopped. Abramovic was exactly that... Also what happened with the other wars Putin started when abramovic already was owner of chelsea? exactly nothing...

The pif bought Newcastle just 1 year ago... while they were supporting a War in Yemen and while having a atrocious human rights record....
Politicians are not gonna stop this unless they really have to ( as in pressure would need to be a lot higher than it is now)...

Yes their buying it for diplomatic power and for sportswashing and they can very much still do that in any european country if they want to. The risk of them loosing that investment due to sanctions is minimal...

Also it s not like they have hundrets of other options to influence public opinion without changing.
To think that any of these right or leftwing political ghouls in europe wont gladly take money from a oppresive regime is delusional

Oh 100%. I've said for a while that Inter - valuation aside - could actually be a super interesting investment and deliver great revenues and value increases to a good owner for example. I think we will see a lot of "second tier" investors taking over and trying to make money out of the league by hopefully improving it. So far though I think wed all day it's been hard to see any major improvements

Because they simply aren't interested. Before turning to Oaktree, Suning offered the chance to Delvecchio of Luxottica (a family of Interisti and one of the richest in Italy) to take the loan from them which could turn into a possible takeover in time. He refused. The times of rich Italian owners are over. Agnellis are just the last of a dying breed.
