I know you are joking man, but this is ridicolous, so many homeless people in train stations, so much retarded things (just change accepted for WC). Try and go to Dubai, Riyadh, Manama, none of this shit man, especially the former 2.

I am shocked how backwards Belgium/Germany are.

Sorry Pimp, but you sound a bit... out of touch. I feel us balkanites shouldn't mouth off about other countries, especially because every country has their own deep, complex issues, but I'm sure homeless people and paying for toilets with coins are minor issues on that list.

It's funny talking about inconviences from a business/tourist point of view when it's totally different living in a country with old infrastructure and no oil money to a country like Dubai. Or better said, visiting Dubai. We barely ever get reports how living in Dubai actually looks.

would rather see how does living look from a perspective of a worker in hotel, cleaning lady or the garbage man

that would paint a more realistic picture of what I am asking about

My cousin near got arrested in dubai because he got on to the wrong train carriage. He got on to the women's and kids carriage and people started screaming at him basically he said.

He also said majority of the non western / native dubai workforce are working on pennies a day.

It might be clean, but certainly doesn't sound glamorous

I spent a few days in Doha, got to see a lot of those shiny aspects of it, but it's ridiculous how people are treated. Would rather live in Bosnia, arguably the worst place in Europe, than in Doha.
You rarely have to pay for toilets here though :D

A childhood friend of mine recently opened a yoga studio. I started attending yoga classes to bring some color to my boring life. To be honest, I don't believe in this Indian philosophy bullshit. But there are a lot of divorced wealthy middle-aged women who attend classes. That's the reason why I'm there :)

There are three different worlds within the UAE, at least Dubai.

The local elite. Well, no comments.
The services industry, lots of permanent workers and even more who reside there temporarily for business.
Then you have the workers who are typically south or east Asian (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Philippines etc).

Nothing to envy from the third group, but the money is probably better than Europe. For some, the conditions as well.

For the second group, which is your typical "western" migrants or workers, you have an awkward party scene available and a glamorous lifestyle but working hours may be suffocating for some so you cannot even enjoy that.

And when you go to the hotel swimming pools or the beach all you see is Russian or other eastern European girls.
These are the only people who are in the Emirates for the lifestyle because their version is rather fake. Everyone else is there to make money.

Sundays are a bit odd because the locals are working but everyone else isn't but it's changing.

And why I shouldn't criticise something if my country is shit? I talk shit about balkans and our crackheads nontop.

Also I never said Dubai/Riyadh/Manama are heaven on earth, merely just talking about infrastructure. Again you guys went off on the deep end, about workers conditions and/or legalities. Like lets not go there, I barely got out of north station in brussels, it looked like a bombed out train station.. people sleeping everywhere, passed out drunks/drug addicts..

look going back to infrastructure, having an old lady sat 8 hour in smell of piss getting you 50 cents.. cmon, fucking brussels.

The one thing I thought was backwards as fuck in Germany was 99% of restaurants, shops etc don't accept card. What the fuck is that about Germans? We were on a long walk on a really hit day in Germany and couldn't buy water for ages because we had no cash. Now that's backwards as fuck.

For the toilet people, I don't mind it as long as the toilet is clean.

yeah, well, the good infrastructure is for the privileged. that's the issue. if it was the same for everybody, we'd be mesmerized, but it never will be.

A friend of mine in Dubai witnessed a man and a woman being arrested & deported for hugging or something trivial like that.

I've been there, it was light years before Europe in infrastructure even fifteen years ago when a lot of things still weren't finished. It's just that you have to be careful and respect their laws when you decide you want to live there or visit.

I know, that was my point. If we are looking at a country from a tourist perspective, Japan is amazing. Love it. But if I wanted to live there, the senseless bureaucracy, blatant racism and unfavourable funding for infrastructure outside of big cities would make me hate it just as much.

Maybe I reacted a bit too harshly because you showed some love for the infrastructure of Qatar...which was built on the backs of many unpaid or badly paid workers and where they like to hide the numbers of deaths in construction.

I hate the whole world... no hate towards you or what you do, brother. I'm happy for you, let it be known.
