Today's update: Confusion exists. Some models have the thing moving south to the Sarasota/Pt. Charlotte line while the majority of meteorologist still insist it's over Sarasota. Storm surge worst case is 15ft. Looking at the Noaa surge map (experimental), my local area says 3 to 8 ft. Winds sustained in mid 90's mph, gust up to 120mph. Tropical force winds start ca 2:00 pm local time. Hurricane force winds around midnight along with storm surge. Power outage remains the same days to weeks. Yikes!
Can't go to a evacuation shelter that takes pets. Don't have a pet crate and few were available for 2.5 old German Shepherd.

I evacuated to Jacksonville with my 17 month old and 99 year old grandma. My house ended up being fine just a lot of tree limbs down. I know some folks that weren’t as lucky unfortunately. However it seems that the storm surge was much worse with Helene than Milton.

I have a property in St Pete that I will need to check on as well as a construction site in Palm Harbor for a franchise I’m opening. Pretty confident Palm Harbor will be ok, not so sure about St Pete property. All the homes in that area but mine flooded from Helene. It’s old so it had a crawl space under it so it’s about 4 feet off the ground.

Power restored. Had high winds gusts around 1O0, sustained in low 90's. Lost power about 45min prior to land fall on Siesta Key. No storm surge in my immediate area. Lots of downed vegetation throughout the neighborhood, that's what I did yesterday with Georgia supervising. Water still an issue. Keep safe and chin up.

Glad you guys are ok. I have family in Florida that left CT. I try not to be a dick when these things happen but when it snows... they like to go see that is why we left :)..... cool story bro. My kids love playing in the snow and I just throw some logs in my fireplace and my wife is happy.

I couldn't imagine living in a place that you need to evacuate multiple times a year because that type of crap is so common. Its one of the reasons we didnt accept moving to Houston during covid for a Job offer I received. It floods and the houses are on like 10 foot cinderblocks

Water came back on for the sewer and tap ca. 4 hrs ago. Boil water until further notice.. people across the street are still without power. A neighbor down street has medication that needs to be kept refrigeratorated it's in my frig now. Since I 'm one of few with power I've been keeping people informed. Even those who think it's a government plot of some sort.....:palm:

Power still out across the street. Have water intermittently now under boil restrictions. Water off and on due to sewage backup through peoples toilets in three houses on the next block. No gas at local gas stations. Local grocery store have run out ice and bottled water.
