And what about Mykonos then? :D
I said there :D

They sort of expect 15% tip minimum.

But in truth, at least until last year as this summer it was a bit messed up, they usually deserved it. You don't get service like that in Europe really. Only a select few places that I'd rather not name because I already have a bad rep here

Champions league is $3 a month :) $30 for the whole year with all games of the Italian league :) with Paramount plus in the US.... this is their promo price for now. It's usually $7/ month with ads or $10 without.

How the FK is it that expensive in Europe!!

I know in Colombia you pretty much have to have the super expensive channel that is like 2x more than Netflix here to watch league games. My parents get all the games on Sling TV for like $10 a month and a ton of channels.

Because in the USA they're fishing for people to follow the sport, whereas in Europe most people are already hooked into it. No need to draw comparisons with other forms of addiction, but you get where I'm going at.
In the USA they're chasing the numbers, to create social media followers and other content chasing practices that will exponentially grow the potential commercial impact any kind of following would give.

Public places (bars, restaurants, pubs, cafes etc) have to pay a lot more per month for any sporting package, so they don't care that much about the individuals. They overprice both. Commercial spots that have illegal boxes get punished or shut down, so they take the legal route. So whether I have this at home or not doesn't really impact the broadcasters. I'm accounted for in the long run as a potential customer of one of the big contracts any given day/week, and if I do happen to have this at home, I'm just extra revenue for them. And since most people are hooked and want to guarantee that they have the option at home, there's a significant amount that has these things, buys season tickets or individual tickets to home games that are included in their package and may even go to a public spot to watch anything else, so end up paying the whole thing for a season and barely catching 1-2 games at home with their expensive subscription.

Hope our friends through the southeast, especially Florida, survived Hurricane Helene with minimal damage and discomfort. Chin up!

I know we aren’t suppose to be political so will just say kind of funny. Governor was like I don’t want commie money to fix infrastructure in this area but now is like please government give us 11 billion to rebuild :)

After the Inter victory today, the rains came and flooded the streets, happily it's draining. Then suddenly, my computer changed, I saw a giant with a red curtain in the background saying " It's happening again...it's happening again. Predict a major hurricane to hit Southwestern Florida , via Noaa, this week. Yikes!

Company fired some of my employees while I was gone on a 2 week trip to Korea…..

Didn’t ask me about it or mention it to me. I was 12 hours different than my team but was in contact with them.

one of them had a major project she was working on for 4 months that was on the computer they shut her out of.

Last year they did a layoff. Didn’t tell certain managers/directors and then had to rehire some of the employees for more money after paying them 3+ months as a severance for firing them.

Just really pissed I’m a senior director, wasn’t told nor did they talk to the director or manager in my team. Asked my boss he is a vp and he wasn’t told either.

It’s like are they throwing darts at a board and if it hits your name your fkd!

How are our Tampa natives managing with the hurricane? @thatdude @Kramerica Industries
Here, in south Venice I'm in a mandatory evacuation zone, but staying. All boarded up, with plenty of supplies, slight chance of storm surge even on the max of 10ft. House at 17 ft ( 5.1 m) above sea level and a good 1.5+ miles (2.4 km) from any thing connected to the Gulf. Last predicted wind gust about 90mph (145 kph) according noon adversary. Good luck everybody.

50/50 on whether I'm leaving town tonight or not. I'm in a Zone D which hasn't been given mandatory evacuation status (Zone C has, and I'm within throwing distance of Zone C properties, but for now I'm still "safe") but I'm more concerned about loss of power and then not being able to get anywhere afterwards. At the same time, I'm not that interested in making a long-ish drive either. I shouldn't be in a storm surge area of risk, that's why evacuation zones have the designations that they do, I'm preparing as if I'll leave tonight and I have family urgings to do so, but I'm really flipping a coin with this at this point.

Update on Milton: Newest track has Milton moving south to ca. Manatee/Sarasota line. Meteorologist figure storm surge numbers could decrease in Tampa areas and north, while Southern Counties will increase. But of course...

Literally just came here to point out that Venice is more in the expected line of fire right now than Tampa Bay is.

Still in the cone so not out of the woods by any means yet but most of the spaghetti models I'm seeing right now are all south of Tampa/St. Pete, some considerably so.

(For anyone unaware - and I don't expect most people here to know the geographical boundaries of Florida counties - the Sarasota/Manatee county line is approximately where that red dot on the 2nd-highest line is there. That peninsula-inside-a-peninsula above the northernmost path is Pinellas County, the county across the bay to the south is Manatee County, and Sarasota county is the one south of that. Venice is in Sarasota County. As a related fun fact, thanks to politics, when you cross the bay between Pinellas and Manatee counties, you pass through Hillsborough County as well. You can't go directly between the two.)

Yeah, still expecting a further wobble to the south (or right) and hoping the dang thing does come down to Cat 3.

Final update till tomorrow in my area: Based on a Cat 3 making landfall. For my area storm surge increased to a max of 12ft. Wind gust increased to 100-110 mph. Wide spead power outages expected for days. Rainfall amounts greatly reduced. Post storm little to no rain cooler temps especially at night. Taking the bad and good.
