With vBulletin there is only so much you can do, you can't always change the plugin or whatever it is to however you want it to be. Either it's there or it isn't there at all. Maybe you can edit it to take off the stuff at the bottom of thanked posts, I don't know since my home forum doesn't use that plugin. But really I don't find it that disruptive in the first place.

I agree with Luka to some extent, but the thanking concept can improve the overall sense of community, if used correctly.

The problem comes when inevitably the same handful of users thank each others posts constantly and create a 'clique.' It gets worse when and if these users refuse to thank others, and the true nightmare comes when those same users gloat about how many thanks they have.

This is unavoidable in almost any system, however, and at least with this one (as opposed to rep) once you are thanked, no one can take it away from you.

Overall, I think it's a nice addition to the site. :thumbsup:
