Mr Kangyang Zhang (Steven Zhang) is the President of Suning International, the overseas division of Suning Holdings Group - the commercial giant ranked second among the top 500 non-state-owned enterprises in China with annual revenues of RMB 557.875 billion (approximately EUR 69 billion) and the owners of Suning.com. Mr Steven Zhang also serves as a member of the UEFA Club Competitions Committee.

Born on 21st December 1991 in Nanjing, in China’s eastern-central coastal province of Jiangsu. Mr Steven Zhang pursued his studies in finance and received a bachelor’s degree in economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to embarking on his career with Suning, Mr Steven Zhang worked as an analyst for Morgan Stanley in the firm’s Investment Banking and Capital Markets division, where he specialised in initial public offerings (IPOs) and mergers and acquisitions (M&As).

Mr Steven Zhang is acknowledged as one of the most influential young business leaders in China and has featured in Fortune China magazine’s ‘40 Under 40’ list for the last two consecutive years.

Shit, and here I thought he was just handed positions of responsibility by his dad. What an impressive resume at only 26.

I didn't know he went to Wharton. Obviously his family's money helped him get in, but that's impressive.

tbh, the amount of chinese students i saw in british university's that could pass for legally retarded is to be quite frank, astounding.

Good uni's as well. (asian-americans are a WHOLE another story)

They're cash cows for the institutions. I don't even think the issue is they lack intelligence; many of them have no grasp of the English language, which makes learning almost impossible.

for mine it was 24k a year. Which is nuts. Really fucking stupid.

I think they lack intelligence. They are mainly from rich backgrounds and get these agencies to write their cv s. I don't know how in the fucking hell they get good toefl grades. I was told from our uni, that 500 people applied and only 50 made it, of which 20 chinese. Nuts.

I don't think that applies to the uk to be honest. I think you need at least 10 years studying in uk to be eligible for that.

^ they n eed eu citizenship as an escape tool for uncle xi

The problem with the people who came to mines was they completely lacked any semblance of work ethic, when i worked in a group with two of them they were shocked i didn't just pay people to do projects for me

I double that. Experience is invaluable, but the naivete and the respective audacity a young man can bring are much more exciting in my book.

I'm pretty sure Inter Media House is Steven's idea, for example. I'm speculating of course, but such "obvious" ideas for us fans are much more likely to be implemented by a 26-year-old guy than a 65-year-old Italian dude that has been Steven's age in the 80s.

Welcome Steve!

Its a great time to have a young, dynamic President who has lived in 3 continents. Football industry has been changing quite rapidly, and Italian football is lagging behind still with old ideas and infrastructure. We need new blood and fresh ideas to exploit the modern revenue streams. Its a great time to have a President who is young enough to understand social media.

I have been in UK for more than 8 years (4 years study and almost 5 years working here )
Among 100 of Chinese student in uk, probably 50 of them ain’t interested in studying at all. They just come here, pay and get a master degree, then come back to China.

But there are Chinese that are doing their best here, whatever study or working.
For example: me :D

so you can't afford wechat projects? hahah

jk, my chinese flatmate who was doing machine learning was brilliant. Currently getting paid 25k to do research at sheffield for a phd.

Though the vast majority were so so incompetent, it was frustrating.

Home/EU fees are subsidised, and there are only a limited number of subsidies available per course/university.

International student fees are 'extra' on top... So a course might have, say, 70 subsidised places, and any international students on top would be extra cash.

This is very exciting and deserved. He is so young, and his desire to win will make us only good.
