I'm not gonna criticize inzaghi for not playing asllani, caboni, etc. But what's up with him putting them on when we are losing? That's the part I don't understand.
I think for youngsters, fucking up a winning game might end up more devastating (costing the team more, and fans are more unforgiving) than fucking up in a losing game (seeing people blaming Inzaghi instead of the player, even fans would still shit on them, think Bellanova); also in an another perspective you don't lose anything when it is already lost (given you cannot find a solution at that moment), but if it works out it is a bonus.
Plus I think in losing games that the coach cannot find a workable game plan that can deploy in the reminding minutes, the tactical understanding, movements is less important, which are also areas where juniors would be the most behind compare to more senior players, and granting the players more leeway to do their own thing, like dribbling, and beating players etc. which are the areas talented junior players thrive at, like flair, pace and agility. These plays are normally more restricted, if the situations are not dire, and the turnover can be devastating.
Speaking of which Zanotti, is a bit different from the other juniors, his movements and tactical understanding seems to be pretty good compare to other youngsters; quite typical for our academy players, so if they have something else standing out or physicality is good enough normally they could be playing first team football.
Zanotti has good dribble, passing and pace. His demonstration of understanding where to go and what to do during when is quite remarkable so far; still remember his tiki taka play from before (under Conte time). However, he is not the type that create something out of nowhere.
