Inzaghi showing the management how bad his midfield choices are. Vidal is okay, but will leave soon, Gags is meh, the starting 3 are great and we can't count on Vecino and Sensi, so two new players at least are clearly needed. I say another player that would fight for first team (Aouar?) and one of our younglings out on loan (Agoume?)

clearly that would make us more competitive overall

From the start of the season I slightly feared our defensive liabilities. But I noticed he is highly intelligent. Really. We have always made slight tactical changes based on opponent and if you paid attention, you could tell what it was and most of the time it was effective.
That's something impressive. It tells you how hard he is working. He is strongly analyzing opponent strengths and our weaknesses and act to address these issues. More often than not, coaches are more reactive. When something isn't working, they analyze it and change it.
I am pretty confident with him as a coach. People say he must earn it to receive contract extension.... I say he has shown enough. I am pretty confident he will do great in coming years as well.

He should be rewarded when he stops starting Gagliardini
Credit should be given where credit is due: Gagliardini did well to contain SMS against Lazio tonight. There were some close calls and times when it was not pretty but Gagliardini did what he was put on the field to do. He can't pass a ball and only knows how to score against Ligurian teams but he definitely knows how to mark, foul and spoil.

If Inzaghi had a better bench and still insisted on playing Gagliardini then I would agree with you but the options are not great at the moment.

A recurring feature of Inzaghi is that he will TAILOR MAKE a game plan for each opponent. Sometimes it's extremely complex, like shifting even Brozovic to the left. Sometimes it's just guided by principle: free-flow everyone, but pass back to Dzeko/Brozovic when you run out of ideas. Today it shows that he has the guts to have Gags on for just one purpose - given that he understands SMS is the biggest if not the only threat of Lazio. Tough win after the farce in Bologna, but another tactical masterpiece.

I think we will end up with Frattesi. He is more similar to Barella but I could also see him also playing in tandem with Barella. Basically it would give us 4 starting quality midfielders.

Would love Aouar as more natural competition for Hakan, but we have to be realistic with the budget and competition from richer teams.

We need a Brozo back up next.

A bit of a gamble too, but I agree.

Would a Brozo back up be...Agoume?
Personally, I think Agoume is too green and Brozovuc’s role is too crucial to the team to sub in Agoume who is much too inexperienced.

I also think that Agoume is too green for Brozo's spot, but I won't mind him returning back and being introduced patiently in the team. In the rare occasions where Brozovic was missing, I saw that Barella occupies that role and I don't mind it, despite this is not his natural position. If we can get Frattesi, it would be awesome, as he can be great rotation player. Considering that 5G will stay, I want some experienced replacement of Vidal.
Remo Freuler would be perfect, but he is very close to extending his contract till 2024.
......
Just seen that Bonaventura will be a free agent in the summer. If this is correct information, would be nice to get him for 1-2 seasons.

I feel retarded now, after calling him a loser and not being happy when we got him...
Anyway congrats on the 3rd Supercoppa! :interflag:

I humbly apologize for having insulted and doubted you. May this be the first of many trophies together.

I've noticed the defense, particularly Bastoni, Skriniar, Dumfries, are very liberal in moving forward and also trying to get into goal-scoring opportunities right near the attack. Similarly, the midfield players also slot in the back in defense a lot.

It's been some time since I've seen Inter play so fluid amongst positions. Credit to Inzaghi for implementing it. Credit to our players for showing that amount of confidence and comfort with each other. It's great to see

Grande Simone!

I have to admit I was really sceptical about him when he came. But he showed that he was the right pick. Especially because Conte really lay the foundation for the 3-5-2 formation and Inzaghi improved it imo. We play really well most of the games. We qualified for the last 16 in the CL, we won the Supercoppa, we are first in the league. All these things I didn't expected when we started the season. So credits for him and I really think this is a great opportunity to start a cycle as a dominant force at least in Italy.

The fact I'm enjoying again to watch Inter as under Conte we had a lot of matches who were not worthy of the sight. Now every one wants to play football and wants to score the 2-0, 3-0 etc. The team seemed to enjoy the way we are playing and we don't have players moaning about playing time or anything.

I saw an interview from Skriniar in which he said that under Conte there wasn't room for fun and that he only laughed when they were champions. That's why in hindsight it is maybe for the better that Conte left. Working under Conte is doable for maybe 2 seasons but I think in the 3th season players get tired of the strict regime etc.

It even looks like the loss of Hakimi and Lukaku weren't that bad for the whole team and that's really worth a compliment for the whole team and technical staff with Inzaghi as leader.
