These English articles always have to twist any subject back to the EPL and how every coach has to go there to "really" prove themselves :sleep:

On a different note I think it's a fantastic sign to Inzaghi's management skills and the team cohesiveness that he can switch the starting line up so often and players accept it. I was watching a video of Thuram talk on the CBS show about this very thing, and he seemed very comfortable with it

Horncastle has lived in Italy and is a bit of an Italian football connoisseur. He's just adapting his knowledge to an English audience.

He's actually a good listen in a podcast format.

I really like Conte, I associate him with our comeback, but Inzaghi is better for the club long-term imo, and better in general. I hope we win today for Inzaghi as well.

I stand corrected about Horncastle then

He was complaining in the comments that he didn't write the headline.

This didn't surprise me when I realized the article was a Horncastle one a few days ago. (My Athletic subscription got fucked up for some reason so I currently don't have access.) The headline is written in a PL-pandering kind of way, but Horncastle's not that kind of guy and headlines are rarely written by the author. Further, the part about the PL is essentially just a blurb at the end of the article, it's in no way the main talking point or anything discussed at length.

I knew Horncastle wouldn't write something like that, his love of the Italian game is pure. It's where he does his best writing and analysis. He wouldn't write something that boils down to "Inter are a small club compared to the Prem, his departure is surely an inevitability".

Honestly brilliant job since the Milan loss. Dodgy decisions here and there (attitude once we were 4-2 against Juve for example), but considering the run we’ve had with Acerbi, Hakan, and Augusto getting injured along the way, it’s hard to ask for more.

And yesterday's game was not to blame on him. Unfortunate in our finishing, only thing I could blame him is not subbing on Frattesi when both out strikers were performing as shit

As good as Lazio Fio Atalanta and co. So we need "2x brilliant" to stand out above other "brilliant" performances if the lower Serie A teams are that weak...

Nah, failing to beat rube and Napoli at home is not a great job. Beating rube was a must. We beat Arsenal but also failed to beat Napoli and totally kill their momentum.

I am ok with Napoli result. We could have won but in general we didn't have a good game. But Juve game is indefensible. We were up 4-2 with 20 mins remaining. There are no excuses failing to defend that lead. Let's hope that match doesn't haunt us at the end of the season.

They go into the break with one point in their last two games and now two weeks before they play again. Hardly a rolling ball going downhill picking up speed. You worry too much about these things.

To me we had almost a brilliant game yesterday. Almost completely nullified the league leaders. One hiccup was that conceded Simeone chance in the dying seconds, otherwise they hadn't much business in this game. And we're talking about a top-of-the-table matchup.

I mind if we peak in late stage of season, everything is still in the reach at this point.

It's really concerning that we play with 2 strikers up top, and they sometimes they do less than the job of 1 striker.

The rest of the team has to essentially carry more load so we can play in this formation, but strikers have to step up.

Can't complain about results so far, but gameplay has been very frustrating.

It's like if Conte could take his gamestyle to Europe.
