Hermoso and Buchanan have nothing in common. One is a LCB and the other a RWB moonlighting as a LWB for no apparent reason. Buchanan returning from injury wouldn't change that.

The problem is Hermoso is expensive as a reserve LCB when you have one of the best LCBs in the world already.

Hermoso is by far the best player we've been linked to. Everything else is a complete unknown.
It's long season. 2 of our CBs are pretty old enough compared to 29-year-old. If there is an injury, Bastoni can move to the center and Hermoso as LCB. Free transfer and 3.5 mil is very reasonable.

Based on Oaktree being dicks, for not signing 29-year-old Hermoso, even Inzaghi likes him, and Hermoso actually lowered his salary demand. This is going to be ongoing problem. Oaktree does not understand that Inzaghi does not play youngsters a lot.

But according to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, the Madrid native wants to join the Nerazzurri.

The centre-back is even willing to lower his wage demands from 5 million euros per year to 3.5M in addition to bonuses.

The Italian champions have been on the lookout for a new left-footed defender, so Hermoso fits the bill in this regard.

However, the club’s new owners Oaktree Capital have instructed the management to pursue younger profiles.
Limone is not quitting Inter cause Oaktree didn't give him an old backup for bastoni.
This may have been a possibility if the manager was Conte but Simone isn't a small manchild who throws his toys when he doesn't get his way.

What happens if they sabotage his picks in the future?

you seem to really have it in for oaktree based on nothing so far

they didnt force any plusvalenza this summer, they signed the new sponsorship deals Suning had lined up to boost our revenue, they've put their hands in their pocket to extend Lautaro/Inzaghi/Barella/etc. They're pretty great so far, short of sugar daddying the club which no one sensible would have ever expected

Going for a different name then the coach wants doesn't mean you are sabotaging him. Or do you think inter sabotaged MoU by going for Wes instead of deco and Lucio instead of Carvalho.
Coach may have preferences and they should be satisfied to some extend but sporting directors need to take into account what is best for the club.

Ok, lets' see. So far, they have not invested anything. Lets' talk about this in the future. I'm not happy with them so far. Watch Inter becomes a mediocre midtable team in 3 years, without Inzaghi and with seria B players, but young. Look at Juve's investment this year. Almost 100 million. Good luck getting anything like that from these guys.

Like @.h. already said, Oaktree invested at Inter by covering the rest of the losses which were left after Zhangs (I read Zhangs covered like 22m and we'll end up having 40-45m losses this season). They didn't require plusvalenza for the season which just ended and doesn't seem to require it for the started season either. Accepted pay raises to Inzaghi, Barella, Lautaro.

They continue Zhang's way of gradually improving financial situation of the club while trying to maintain the competitive advantages.

They seemed capable though.
Looking at Acerbi at minute 66 he looked slower than me, reaction time was horrible. You could clearly see it's all experience he is going on. In 10 more matches, that will just be too late to most duels.

Inzaghi released a statement on Inter’s official website following the death of his ex-coach Eriksson.

Inzaghi played 57 games under Eriksson at Lazio, scoring 26 goals.
“The death of Sven-Göran Eriksson is deeply saddening for me. I was really young, I’d just arrived in Rome and he helped me a lot,” said the Italian coach.

“He was fundamental in my development as a player and a man. I admired his calmness, how polite he was and the way he really respected everybody. He was a source of inspiration for me. I’m here today thanks partly to him and what he taught me.

“Sven was a great man, an example in life for us all. In these last few months, he showed his strength and desire to live, another demonstration of his greatness. He taught us to live while he was dying. Rest in peace, Sven, and thank you for everything. You will always be with me.”
RIP Sven

The numbers must not be right. A goal every other game was some world class number back in the days.

The numbers are actually right but it's heavily padded with a good CL season. 11 in 35 in the league

One thing I think Inzaghi didn't get enough credit from is, the integration of new elements; he doesn't prefer jump right into it, but eventually he integrated them.

He also did a great job with Asllani, to think of the first game how Asllani increased tempo every touch to just the last game being quite natural in knowing what to do, I hope he keeps on improving.
It is also not limited to Asllani or young players, converting Hakan into a DLP; Darmian into LCB.

The players obviously deserve credit, but Simone is involved too and so is his coaching team.

Also I think (Zieliński, Asllani, Frattesi), (Taremi, Correa); shows that he is not a man that has preference for older players, nor is it a preference for familiarity, but how well the player knows how he wants it to be played.
