Inzaghi is doing better than what was expected. Maybe Juve being so close is a good incentive for us to not fuck around too much.

I was wondering this as well. We generally haven't done well when we do little rotation in games 3 days apart - see Bologna match where we really suffered in the second half and Sassuolo also.

I guess difference in this potential scenario is that Lazio will actually have even less rest than us because 1) their CL game is Wednesday while ours is Tuesday, and 2) they also play a Coppa Italia game tomorrow so they won't get a week break either like we do.

I do wonder if we do a few rotations for the Udinese match - Augusto, Cuadrado, Frattesi, Arnautovic. That might be too much rotation as Udinese are very hard to beat. They may be at the bottom of the table, but they don't lose very often - they actually have same number of losses as Roma/Napoli and only one more than Milan with 9 draws from 14 games.

I think Carlos Augusto needs to start at LWB due to physicality Udinese has on that side. Also with Dumfries fitness issues, Cuadrado may get his first start and I don't see Simone playing Cuadrado/Dimarco together as he may feel it leaves defensive holes on both sides plus lack of physicality - especially against probably the most physical team in the league.

I see no reasons why we can't go in with full force in these matches. Our players were well rested during the international break, they were rested vs Benfica. They are having a full week of rest now. They surely can handle a match every 3 days until Christmas. We can also sub out our key players early in the matches when we have a good advantage. 140mins/week (70mins/match) isn't all the much, most players can do full 120mins back-to-back during an international tournament.

Which players were well-rested during international break though? Other than Mkhi, I'm pretty sure each of the starters was on international duty or injured.

We also have an older team than most Serie A teams.

Either way, the only two games we went in with full force (minimal to no squad rotation) when playing every 3 days were the home matches against Bologna and Sassuolo. We got 1 points out of 6 and looked exhausted in the 2nd half in both of those matches.

The most important thing is that you are consistent in the long run. Slip ups happen every season, no Serie A club won it with a 100% win rate, but as far the team is consistent, this is the way.

Winning against the best opposition is just a cherry on the top, putting our stamp on it. We want to win it.

Il Signore, another tricky time for you, so we have only Acerbi, Dimarco, Carlos, Darmian, Bisseck, and Cuadrado left to fill 5 spots.

The personal is so limited, only the tactics can help with energy allocation, at least 2 home games in a role, maybe more possessions less classing, more midfielders moving around; funny enough a Dimarco-Carlos-Acerbi-Bisseck-Darmian is better to play high line than sit tight back, might be a bit harder to play from the back, but given it is Udinese, we should be able to handle it.

Most worry for Dimarco, cause running 90 minutes might be too much. It could possibly go into Darmian-Carlos-Acerbi-Bisseck-Cuadrado in the second half, but then Darmian might be too tired against la Real.

The WB energy is the most delicate here, CB should be fine. Maybe Bastoni will be ready in CL and Darmian and Caudrado can share the mins then.

Hope we get an early goal and we can play it slow and wait for a second goal.

I think Bastoni will be ready for this one - although not sure if he'll start. I think we'll see one of the following options:

Option 1: Darmian - Bisseck - Acerbi - Bastoni - C.Augusto(Dimarco) (this allows to have two wingbacks that can change the match from the bench)

Option 2: Cuadrado - Darmian - Acerbi - Bastoni - C.Augusto(Dimarco)

Option 3 if Bastoni cannot start: Darmian - Bisseck - Acerbi - C. Augusto - Dimarco

I don't see Simone playing Cuadrado and Bisseck at the same time as he'll find it too risky defensively. If Bastoni cannot start, I think Cuadrado will definitely be on the bench, because I don't see Simone starting with all 4 wingbacks that are fit and not having any of them as an option off the bench.

It's not like it was a difficult task to win at home against Udinese, but at least he's making competent decisions lately. A heavy rotation would probably complicate things more than people can imagine. These league matches can be very tricky if you don't have a proper approach. The same Udinese managed to defeat Milan in San Siro. I expected a tougher clash tbh, but we never gave Udinese a chance, which is truly impressive how deadly Limone's Inter has become.

Credit to mister for these results. He owes us a Scudetto, but at the same time, that would put him in Inter's history as one of the best coaches of this club. So glad that he's managed to turn things around.

I'm having flashbacks of December 2021, when we were flying in Serie A and everyone was creaming their pants over our bel giuoco. We all remember what happened in February...

Unfortunately the outcome of this season is already written, but it is not Simone's fault. I wrote him off last season after the halftime subs against Udinese but now, against the same opponent, I see fit to praise him. He's converted me, an avid catenaccio enjoyer, into a fan of the bel giuoco. Watching this Inter play is really pleasing to the eyes and the soul.

Team looks matured compared to earlier seasons, also there's a couple of matches we've escaped undefeated although we played like shite, which goes to show that mentality of this team is not the same to what has been in past couple of seasons.

This group tasted defeat, so I think it's a learnt lesson. My biggest concern is attacking department. Not having a proper striker as a backup might bite us in the ass. Arnautovic has been pretty poor so far, and Alexis is never consistent. So, entire season depends on Lautaro and Thuram, in case one of them picks up a long term injury, we are fucked. Let's hope management brings a decent striker come January, someone who could be useful in particular occasions.

We are so limited with our money and sadly we can't really sell Arna or Sanchez to fund another striker coming. So if we'll have multiple striker injuries, I have a feeling Sensi will play in Serie A.

I'd also like another striker, but it ain't happening.

I cant remember seing Inter playing like this (even in tripleta era when its Seria A) and I follow Inter since 1994. But all of that wont matter if we drop this form and start slipping. Hope he win us scudetto this season. It would be so deserving considering he loses one or two players from starting 11 every mercato.

Even among EPL fansboys who see Serie A as a very inferior league his name is brought up as an option for Man Utd bench, mostly because of his CL campaign. So there could be rumours in the future, especially if he has another good CL campaign.

But he doesn't seem the type who's searching for a challenge abroad. He looks happy at Inter.

Tbh not so much that but at inter he's boosting his reputation atm. If he wants to make a step up to a bigger name club where he'll grow his reputation further he should at least finish out this season if not one more after. Another decent CL run and a league title under his belt will change perspectives on him significantly, he could walk into a well paid job somewhere else after.

Truly. I detest teams that play too carefully, like crabs sauntering about. Boldness is the way. This side has grown into something magnificent this season and I am enjoying it greatly.
