Chivu is having a pretty shitty season with Primavera, he is 10th or so. As much as I like the guy and I know him quite well, he is nowhere near ready. Would probably end up around Stramaccioni level at best. He is definitely a manager for the future though as he is taking it quite serious.
We do not have a realistic alternative to Inzaghi at the moment but there is absolutely zero chance he continues next season.

I do get it, but if our plan to make top 4 is 'hopefully everyone fails harder than we fail', that's a pretty poor plan. I'd rather have a plan with some degree of affirmative action - because, after all, if it goes wrong, it can pretty much only go wrong as badly as the current plan is anyway. The plan we're articulating here of everyone failing harder than Inter is basically relying on everyone else, something we have no control over, we should aim for the things we have some control over to succeed.

Hell, you could interim Conte if he gets fired by Tottenham.

If we lose to Juventus, there's serious risk of us dropping out of the top 4. If that happens, we need to intervene, leaving it until after a potential bad result against Fiorentina is too late.

I don't expect necessarily too much from the new guy, but, if we're admitting defeat basically with Inzaghi, then I'd rather try something a bit riskier to see if we can do somewhat better than losing most of the rest of the season and going out of the league because our coach has unimaginative subs, doesn't know how to motivate the team, cant put any faith in trying something new even when things are failing.

Not making the CL for next season means we probably sell Brozovic, Bastoni, and dont have any real cash for replacing anyone properly. We will lose our ability to stay in the top 4, and it'll be banter era again before you know it.

Its not just about the Spezia game. It's the lack of creativity. It's that we werent particularly strong against Lecce, its losing to Bologna, it's the lack of inspiration from the bench and the decisions made by Inzaghi.

It's also the tough schedule coming up - Juve (in not bad form), Fiorentina after (won 3 in a row now), Salernitana after (ok, that should be a win, but if anyone can throw it right now its Inzaghi with this team), Monza after that (we all remember what happened in the first match


I'm not saying we use Chivu as an interim, but I think we need to start exploring options. We pretty much cant afford even a single week where we drop points vs our rivals right now otherwise CL looks very unlikely.

We dominated Sampdoria too, but lost two points there. So, it's two unlikely events that happened. With the late equalizer by Monza, they are already three.
We almost dropped points against Udinese as well, but the incompetence of Success saved us.

If there's one thing I believe about this inter, without Conte, it's that you put us in a do-or-die situation, and we'll crumble like nothing. It's not a team with the resilience or atitude to succeed in challenging situations, at the moment.

I'm not talking about throughout the season, I'm talking about now. Maybe it's fatigue. Maybe it's skriniars announcement. Maybe it's the lack of bench. But right now I see a broken Inter that is going to really struggle, has been struggling for a while, and isn't able to do what it needs to.

I think gutting it out with Inzaghi for the rest of the season is the only way forward. Our only interim option is Chivu, who isn’t really doing well with Primavera, and doesn’t seem ready at all for that sort of gig. Who else are we going to go for, Iachini and Ballardini?

We just need to back him fully till the end of the season, hunker down, and hope for the best.
