after the summer when everyone thought we gonna fight for top4
what? are you even serious? many of us expected to get the second star. Not because Inzaghi was hired, but rather the team was up for it, and rivals were still recovering. Even Marotta mentioned that at the beginning of the season that the aim is the second star!

Is that how much it would cost?? Fuck me.
Yeah unless he resigns we need to pay him the rest of his wages. If gobbi were to fire mad max it would cost them €40.5 mil.

Hence why these 2 fuckers are safe.

That's what you do to give trust to the coach though. He won us two trophies. No matter how less you appreciate those trophies, they are still trophies to our cabinet. Inzaghi showed he can carry the team to Scudetto challenge (after the summer when everyone thought we gonna fight for top4), can bring in trophies.

Imagine we started this season without his extension, how nervous it would have been and how media would have been all over the place the minute we misstep.

However, the mistake was to bump up the salary. IMO that would have required the Scudetto (or some deep run in the CL). Extension calmed the situation with him and I can totally understand doing it, not a joke at all. Coach is definitely not just "any employee". He's perhaps the most important employee in the football squad.
Trophies or not, you don't extend a coach mid season.
We lost our best player last year because they ONLY start negotiating near the end of the season, in which he refused to even entertain them.
No coach is worth a multi-year extension, NONE. Not even Pep who's been with City for 6-8 years and has won nothing outside of England. Without their redicoulous spending City wouldn't be in the position they are in.

This team is disjointed. We have 1 wing back that is completely useless in all phases of the game, piss poor subs, refusal to use one of the best WBs in Serie A and keep throwing on a useless dumbfuck of a midfielder.

Inzaghi has no idea wtf he's doing, i'd rather have Mazzari right now.

He started mentioning Scudetto only during the season. At least I wasn't expecting Scudetto after that summer. Good for you if you were, it was quite close.

And Inzaghi wasn't extended midseason, he was extended this summer.

Usually with a new deal comes a salary bump. Doudt he accepts to extend without a bump.

Honestly, I doubt it. :D

Inzaghi couldn't and can't get anywhere that salary he gets at Inter.

And yeah I can't see us kicking him out mid-season. It would risk too much, given that who would replace him and do any better?

This NT break came at a right time for us.
I think chances of chivu taking over if he s fired mid season are quite high...dont think we d go for a high profile replacement...

Your expectations for this season was probably even lower? Finishing in the top 10 maybe?

Piss-poor player handling from Inzaghi. Great way to pull a players confidence down by substituting him (them!) on the 30th of fucking minute, show some faith in your choosed lineup that they can actually avoid taking that second yellow and don't go pissing your pants the moment a player receives a booking, it's incredible from a manager at this level.

Speaking of pulling players confidence down, what a nice way to introduce Gosens slowly to the starting lineup. Not. Yes he has been poor, but Inzaghi just refuses to give him a proper run of games at the position which he was widely expected to get from Perisic. Instead he plays mediocre at best Darmian, and/or brings on D'Ambrosio just so he can switch Dimarco to left.

I started last season saying top 4 was the objective. But seeing how bad our rivals were, and the position we were in in February, not winning it was a complete failure.

I kinda feel sorry for Inzaghi and think he's a good coach. Something started rotting inside this club from the summer. The way we embarrassed ourselves in the mercato and the way we dealt with player extensions is not his fault. However, he has clearly lost it. Those 30 minute subs are amateur shit. He has to go.

Tbh I do think the major issue here is coming from the players. Inzaghi definitely has a lot of blame on him, but I think there's been a lot going on behind the scenes regarding the players. I think the mercato is the biggest reason. Only time will tell.

I don't remember I've ever seen a coach changing two of his players after 30m minutes for any reason beyond injuries. Has anyone ever seen something like this?

I’ve been rooting for him to turn it around, but I don’t see it happening and today was the final blow for me. It would be foolish to put the blame on Inzaghi solely but he is clearly not up to the task of keeping the players focused and performing in this moment and game management has never been his strength.
