From his press conference for the Genoa game:

all of this is translated from https://twitter.com/InterCM16

"Tomorrow will be exciting to meet the fans again after a year and a half"

“Tomorrow it will be difficult against a well trained and prepared team. What I want to see on the pitch are the principles I have passed on in these 45 days of preparation.''

“Scudetto goal? Inter's goals are always ambitious. I don't like making claims. It really depends on the motivations of the kids. I'm confident for tomorrow's race and for the season. "

“The words of Zanetti ? We will do everything to make sure things go smoothly. We know it is a difficult season but I am confident for what I have seen in the training fields in these 45 days. There is a great relationship with the company. " (Zanetti said it will be a difficult season)

“We knew the company had problems. We knew of Hakimi , we had the misfortune of Eriksen and then we also gave in Lukaku. Dzeko was my request even before sale of Lukaku. Now something is missing. "

"The very important disposals served to secure the club."

"Dzeko is one of the best strikers around. I asked the company at the beginning. It is complete and does department by itself. Another player will come to complete the department but I have many solutions. "

“Making starting predictions makes no sense now. There are 7 well-equipped teams. We are ambitious and highly motivated. The boys trained very well. "

"We want to defend the Scudetto we have on our chest"

"After Hakimi and Eriksen we also lost Lukaku. So it is normal that from the outside it looks like we have weakened. But having ambition and team spirit will be very important to do well. "

"Market? There is a daily confrontation with Marotta and Ausilio. But now I just want to think about tomorrow's match. "

"Lukaku? Unexpected and unplanned departure. Marotta and Ausilio tried to convince him but he made his decision. He came to me and politely informed me that he would go to Chelsea. Now we have Dzeko + another that will come "

I don't know about the body language, but I like what I read here. He looks positive, confident, and definitely not one without a say, as was predicted by many here.

Also it is something if Marotta tried to convince Lukaku to stay.

I dont think we are much weaker. Hakimi is a good wing back but was a bit too incomplete. I think Dumfries is a great replacement.

A prime Eriksen surely is better than Calhanoglu but honestly he wasnt the game changer for the scudetto nor we saw a prime Eriksen. I therefore dont think, we ll be weaker with Calhanoglu.

Lukaku of course cant be replaced but it depends on the system too. Dzeko still is great in the box.

With another striker to come in, i dont really see us weaker + i consider Inzaghi tactically better than Conte.

The key takeaway from the press conference is that we will sign a striker to fit Inzaghi's tactics.

Everything else is not worth paying attention to, especially the Lukaku part which sounds like a typical blame game.

I tend to be naively optimistic about everything Inter, that's what got me through the dark years. But you can't possibly say we havent downgraded. We lost one of the best strikers and WBs in the world. Switching up the tactics can mitigate this somewhat but in term of individual quality, we've lost quite a lot.

from fedenerazzura's twiter

Inzaghi: "We strongly wanted Calhanoglu. Ausilio and Marotta were already working on signing him. When I faced him, he always put me in difficulty. In my opinion, Hakan doesn't even know how good he is."

"I couldn't have imagined a better debut. I see there's a team with huge desire to learn new concepts and ideas. Calhanoglu is a great player. He knows how to combine his quality with the many things that he is capable of doing. But it's an understatement to only mention him."

"Dumfries is a quality player and he will help us this season. Ranocchia, D'Ambrosio and Kolarov haven't missed a training session since July 8th. There isn't one here that doesn't deserve to be here."

"Let's not forget about Lautaro and Sanchez and the new forward that is coming are missing tonight. Sensi is a great player. I saw him everyday and am finding a place for him. I'm lucky to have Sensi here. I'm lucky to have many of them here."

"We must always play like this. Carefree. Today, I freed all the players and we must continue like this. We know that we must complete the attack, Lukaku's departure was unexpected. Today you saw what a player Dzeko is. Starting tomorrow, we'll return to think about the market."

"Without Dzeko, Lautaro can easily play as first striker. What attributes do I look for in a new striker? Well, certainly scoring important goals. We need someone that can help us."

Another thing to keep in mind is that Hakimi is probably the best WB in the world with space, not so much otherwise, and it's the same for Lukaku probably the best CF in the world with space, but he clearly struggles against tight defenses.

Of course pace is always an amazing weapon to have but we won't playing under Inzaghi is a way that would benefit them the most, though Hakimi was indeed pretty young and could probably improve that massively, for Lukaku he was in his prime and CFs do improve their play in thigh spaces with age and Lukaku clearly improved with us but it's pretty clear that always is gonna be a big problem for him. He's probably the worst of the top forwards in thigh spaces.

For the way we want to play under Inzaghi, technical players are better than pace. Though it would be great to have both, at least in a couple players.

Anyways I've always said that Inzaghi is clearly better than Conte, let's wait 10 games to re-confirm it. I'm actually not that worried about our attack, if Sánchez wasn't so fucking injury prone I wouldn't be worried at all, but well.

The only thing that really worries is how fucking awful our midfield is outside the starters, if we lose any of them for any prolonged period of time we're gonna suffer like crazy, thankfully Brozović and Barella are pretty resilient.

For me personally I believe Inzaghi is a better tactical coach than Conte. Well done in your first game. We won with style. It was the sort of win that sends a statement to all those doubters.

Now let's carry on winning

Inzaghi never has problems with setting up a grinding machine and winning a series tbh. He has done that several times with Lazio. His "real tests" are matches after the first defeat. Usually his team derails and he has no clue how to shake the players up, destroying the whole season.

Inzaghi has a timid personality and, as the side effect, is not a great motivator.

really really entertaining, Sarris Napolis reloaded man! As long our defensive is not too bad, with or without scudetto, at least it's fun to watch this team and not a pain like it was in the banter era.

Yeah, yesterday when I checked our goal ratios, we even had a season when we conceded more than we scored. True banter era indeed

Totally blocked that out of my memory

Relax guys please… I just want to remind you of the first season games with Conte where we blasted Lecce and enjoyed ultraoffensive Football against Fiorentina and Benevento.

The Football idea is there and it is well exectued, but lets wait another 10-15 games
