Relax, we still had good deals. We cannot sell Skriniar, thats suicide now .

BUT...

If we resigned Perisic for 2 more years, signed Dybala for free, signed Lukaku on loan, signed Bremer with DeVrij on 1st bench option.

We would have cruised to scudetto on automatic gear. Sadly we are broke, living under a bridge crackhead. Only Bremer on that list is a transfer net spend, the others are new contracts ( need to free up space for that)

Grazie Suning for giving us few titles after Rube domination, bud kindly, fuck off now.

This new dude in beelan is great, big big potential and Pioli knows how to make kids great, think they are now definitely no1 contender for scudetto. Than rube. And than us. We lost Perisic but got Lukaku and thats it, not stronger than last season. If we sell Skriniar its game over.

This kid might have bbig, big potential as you say. But this kid is 20y old and came from an inferior league. Usually the most of them will need at least an year to adapt until than can make an impact. See Lautaro, Tonali and you can find many others. There are exeptions when kids from day 1 are bossing a new, stronger league. Milan may be one of the favorites but most probably won`t be because of this kid.

But this is a big problem on this forum and not only here. The most of the members seem they don`t understand what means a learning curve foe a young player. And you are one of them, no offense. I remember very well, when many here write Tonali off in his first year at Milan (which is a normal, understandable learning curve for such an young player).

The same probably will happen to Asllani. I read many post how our midfield is better this year with Asllani&Mikhi instead of Vidal&Vecino. The kid may struggle this year. And it would be absolutely normal. Last year on this time he was a kid at Empoli primavera. Fast-forward in one year and only half year proffesional football he is at Inter. This is a hell of a step forward. It would be absolutely normal to need at least one year to adapt. But hey, as I know many members on this forum, they will start to moan after few games, how we wasted the money.

Should we be worried about CDK?
Dunno. More Kjaer and Adli than CDK. Kjaer-Tomori can be unbeatable again, Kjaer is the brains and organizer of defense. CDK it takes time to settle in and be instant hit and score regularly imo. . Adli has been already shining for them.

Milan and Maldini is building without stress, unlike us. Obv we would have liked to have Dybala, Bremer and Lukaku. But our finances are shit. We need to trim the wages and expensive bench .

Just do not sell Skriniar. Selling would mean scudetto race will be between Meelan and Rube. We would be fighting for top4, not for title without him.

Dont count us out so easy. All we need to do is beat everyone outside the top 4 which is definitely can because we are stronger in every aspect. But yes, milan scares me more than juve tbh whos building is shortsighted to say the least
I rate kalulu better than kjaer btw

I admire how Milan are prepared to pursue, field and trust players that are young enough to have pimples. It also shows that they are prepared to scout and cast their net far wider than we appear to be doing.

We are very much at the other end of the age spectrum.

Yes, that`s right. And this directions was given from Elliot/Gazidis. This is a playbook how to build a team when you don`t have sugar daddy.
Of course the essential prerequisite of that is to have an excellent scouting. I don`t know if Maldini has an eye for scouting.

But what about their sporting director Massara. He was the child of Sabatini. His story is copy-paste of that of Paratici and Marotta. Without knowing details I can assume he is the leading head behind their scouting system. Because their rebuilding pattern is close to that of Roma under Sabatini last decade, when Massara was Sabatini`s right hand.
Look at the young players they bought since they are there: Maignan, Tomori, Kalulu, Hernandez, Bennacer, Tonali, Diaz, Leao, Salaemaekers. Yes, some are way better than the others but overall an excellent job. No massive fuck-ups in compare to us.

Milan go for young players cause they are forced to because of the wage cap.

This is mainly the work of Moncada, ex-Monaco head scout.
also Tiago Estevao, our recruitment analyst made a podcast where he explains the proceses, how he fits in, how to look for specific profiles itd., its really insightful for any football fan out there

I didn`t know that. It makes a lot of sense. Monaco was and still is one of the best team in identifying and grooming talents.
I don`t know how are your feelings toward Elliott, but I like the direction Milan is settle. You have a pretty clear strategy and the guys who seem to know how to implement it.
It`s painful to lose for free a few good players but if you succeed raising the revenues, you could keep the players in the future.

Inter on the other hand in the train wreck. I can see how Marotta try to reduce the costs and in the same time keep the squad competitive, but is a painful job not knowing how the ownership will be sorted out. Maybe he may succeed but more probably a painful restructuring it will be around the corner.

it sucks losing players for free, definitely but I have faith that we can replace them with good scouting and player analysis. We lost Dollar who would cost us something like 18mil gross per season and replaced him with Maignan who is imo an upgrade (and im not being biased) and costs us like 8 mill gross yearly. Kessie will be tough one to replace mainly due to him being injury free the whole season and being someone you could rely on but thats happens when you have a greedy agent.

I love the way our club is heading right now, even tho we dont have rich sugardaddys, we've really established a good good scouting network. Our latest signing, CDK, we've been scouting him since 2020 and I fully believe he'll do good for us. Since Maldini, Massara and Moncada took over, we've rarely had any misses in terms of our purchases (and even if we did, we recouped most of the invested money).

Marotta is imo doing a great job with the budget he's having but long term..its not sustainable. I really wonder whats gonna happen in a year or two

We nearly all here admit it`s not sustainable.

What I believe it will gonna happen is what many of us expected. We will be acquired by a hedge fund and then we have 2 possibilities.
Either a painful restructuring. Selling the best players, write off the debt and starting with the new personnel and a clean shit. But this means a few years of misery at least.
Another possibilty would be to try to keep our starting core of players (Onana, Skrniar, Bastoni, Barella, Brozo, Hakan, Dumfries, Gosens, Lautaro), keep a few of the young cheaper guys (Bellanova, di Marco, Asllani), release the rest - anyway we have a lot of expiring contracts (Darmian, DD, Gags, de Vrij, Dzeko) and complete the roster with young players. The problem is we don`t have a scouting system like Milan and we would need many players.
