I do wonder about his happiness as a backup/rotation - we may run into problems like with frattesi (though in that case he's not good enough to start anyway)

So, we will spend money + Fabbian and Asllani for this guy, who has 8 or 9 goals so far?
This will be the stupidest thing after spending 30 mln for Correa

From 25M to 40M in a few weeks :yao: that escalated quickly.

GdS write that Castro has already confirmed his desire to join the Nerazzurri.

What's his current salary? I bet that's a major reason why Inter are interested

As a first backup he'd get significant playing time here though. There will be so many matches, and also injuries/suspensions, so he wouldn't have to worry much about lack of playing time.

Inzaghi's Inter is an attractive destination for players, unless a player is completely ass.

I like Santi tbh. He's also quite physical for his age and looks a typical hard working striker. Has an eye for the goal aswell.

If he's good enough, he plays more (than Frattesi for example). It's all about are you good enough or not. Inzaghi probably wants to rotate more, save his starters more than what he's able to do this season for instance.

40M is of course a bit high for Castro. Even with counterparts included, unless there's like Fabbian involved with a big valuation.

10g 8a in Serie A and Coppa. 0 goals in UCL in 7 games.

20 years old. Argentinian.

This will be a success story!

Bologna is just doing what any club would do. They want triple from their investment. If freaking 500k Dorgu is going for 40M€ from Lecce, why can't they ask a very premium for their biggest stars. Castro, Ndoye or Beukema.

Now that I remember, Höjlund went to United for 74M and he had 9 Serie A goals (+1 Coppa) in that season. Obviously a massive overprice but sellers know what they are doing.

Exactly. As far as remember, many people here wanted Hojlund at Inter, but it's obvious that his quality is far from 70mln, and he looked more promising than Castro.

That's why he cost more than Castro. Anyway, I think 40m for Castro is high. If we really want him we should negortiate to lower it to like 25-30m+bonus.

Castro might score 2,3,4 more goals this year and who says his price won't grow even more. Very likely. Maybe Bologna will demand 50 in the summer. Obv we have the will of the player, but big EPL teams can lure him with those massive wages.

As usual, statistics may not tell the whole story.

I just checked that Krstovic has already 10 goals this season,.which means that his breakthrough season wasn't just a fluke. For me, he is a safer bet than Castro.

To be fair he's 4 years older
He is 24, which is good age actually. He isn't too young or too old.
My point is that spending so much money on a very raw player like Castro is huge gamble, provided he will play peripheral role at Inter.
I don't recall any young revelation, who lived up to the expectations recently. Scammacca, Dia, Hojlund, Chiesa, Valhovic, G.Simeone. Zirgzee also seems like a failure even though it could be due to environment.

I'd pay 40+mln for a player which we need now - successor of Mkhitaryan for instance, not for back up of Lautaro and Thuram.

EPL clubs aren't handing out massive wages.

But they're throwing massive transfer fees.
