Handa's not trying to save has been a long standing issue ever since he joined. The difference was Handa was one of the best GK -if not the best- in the world during our dark era. I would argue he was better than Neuer or De Gea who received more exposures at that period. He produced miraculous saves after saves weeks in and out so we accepted if he conceded few easy goals. Now old Handa doesn't save us anymore and the ratio between good and bad performance becomes alarming. I lost count how many cheap goals we have been conceding at the last 2 seasons and the video is merely a tip of iceberg.

Well actually, benching him made a difference at some point. But the issue was bigger than just benching him. But yeah, Onana has been just great. Goalkeepers tend to make errors here and there, but not on a constant basis like Handa was over the last couple of years.

Onana has been a fresh air and a goalkeeper will commit a blunder once in a while. It is fine as long as the error rate is small and he proves to be reliable in most occasions, unlike current Handa.

In all these matches he featured so far.

No one is faultless but at least he doesn't commit as many errors as Handa for example. That's one thing. But another thing, is that his presence in the goal has brought confidence among the other defenders. He seems way more active, has a good communication and also contributes way more than Handa in our game-play.

In fact, he is one of few good things to happen during all this chaos.

TBH I think even Radu is an upgrade for current Handanovic.
It was a right decision.

I am thankful for Handa's service, but you have to recognize the time to step down, which he did in a very graceful manner.
Our current crisis has nothing to do with the GK.
