There was an awakening slightly in the later part of 2nd half, but the damage was done by that 2nd goal. When scamacca hit the post, I knew it was over then. Deserved win 100% by switzerland.

Spalletti out and the FIGC needs to do work because this euro was poor, no real excuse. From the coach to the players, poor performance. Switzerland may not have the "super stars" like mbappe but playing as a team is something I'll take anyday over having a superstar. Lesson for Spalletti/FIGC to learn.

Scamacca is pathetic. Dude looked better than Pinamonti only because of Gasperini's system and better teammates.
he has always been a fraud... Can't believe how people fall for him just cause he scores a nice goal from time to time.... I've been saying for years hes the same shit as Pinamonti... Now i am not sure if thats true anymore, as Pinamonti is perhaps better.

It was offside. At all we had only 1 shot on goal with retegui and that swiss player who almost scored an own goal.

They take forever to blow the whistle and never show replays anymore so I thought he was on.

They seemed more alert more determined and could hold the ball a bit better. Obviously nowhere anything close to what was needed to even get 1 goal though.

We looked infinitely better under Prandelli than this. It's not even a conversation.
I liked prandelli. 2012 final was tactical miscalculation (italian coaches like doing that against spain for some reason). I think if he had approach from group stage game, if Italy would have lost, it would have been 2-1 or something. Not the 4-0 disaster. Conte got that part right in 2016 R16 matchup against them. Although the germany game was a bit too tame for me, back to just sit back and hold.

Italy in 2014 was decent imo too. We just didn't account suarez-saurus rex to show up. I felt like we would've had a decent QF run that year. Idk about winning, but a better run than just Group stage.

Italia lost that match by 4-0 because Thiago Motta came in as the sub, got injured and Italia had to play the rest of the match with 1 player less. The result was 2-0 at that time and could definitely take a different turn 11 vs 11. That was a good team. Nothing close to this one. It's not even a debate.

I mean who looked at this Italian roster and thought it was a good squad. Take out the inter players and it’s worse than Mexico

You mean like Italy 2012 squad vs Italy 2024 squad? Yeah that team was better. Not debating that. More just the 4-0 didn't really reflect that actual value of the team on the field.

I know italians at the time (some not all) were like "prandelli is .... " "italy is never going to win again because we are not good etc etc" kinda stuff. Pessimistic views, that I felt were overblown. Spain was good, but that Italy wasn't too bad either imo.

Going back to ADRossi said, I would take prandelli or montella instead of one more day with spalletti
