Yuko shut up, they are Spain!! How dare you speak bad about them? :p

jokes aside, man i am starting to HATE this spanish nt... I just hope they fail in everything they do, more and more annoying people i haven't seen.. Those dives are worse than Tottis, worse than Ronaldos, worse than everyone else.. Italy is know for diving, but i think this spain beats them :D
Plus they are sooo full of themselves, so arrogant pricks, everyone of them.. well, almost everyone of them :)

Anyway, portugal sucked big time. Never expected them to suck so badly. Spain wasn't good at all as well, but deserved the win, much more than portugal, that's for sure.

The Dutch already have their work cut out for them with Brasil & then the winner of the Uruguay vs Ghana encounter...IF they make it to a final, would be an interesting matchup with Spain should they advance...But kicking their ass?...Is there a football side that could actually follow through on such bravado, atm?...I don't think so

you forgot when we kicked barcas ass 3-1 in the san siro remember, just read my sig....;)

anyway back to the topic, i think this was one of the more poorly played mtaches, maybe it was too hyped up and expectations were high. both teams were very average but spoain deserved the win in the end. i still dont see them winning it though, not yet.

So that was definitely a dive by Capdevila correct? I only saw the replay once and it wasn't a great angle.

I watched the goal multiple times in slo-mo. Everyone was onside. The red card, absurd.

Not definitely, IMHO...No conclusive replays of contact but there are replays that show Costa swinging his elbow...As to whether he actually made contact, I haven't seen a replay that shows it either way...I did, however, catch Capdevilla threatening Costa after he got sent off...Telling him to meet him after the match and they'll settle it

Costa deserved a booking at a couple of instances during the match but whether that elbow incident was worthy of a straight red is unclear to me

That was a bad game. Disgusting sending off. But Portugal got their tactics wrong. No point playing Ronaldo as the lone frontman, you are wasting most of his talent there.

Also Iniesta was the mom here. I believe more than Spain's ability to attack or defend, its their ability to frustrate the opposition by keeping the ball and 100 passes in midfield or to goalie that wins them.

So it was more human error than "corrupted" refereeing.

The ref could not see it.
The linesman had a terrible position, and could not even see Villa behind the Portuguese bodies. No one would have called for an offside if they were standing where the linesman was.

I never seen Costas hand swinging. He was like 1 m infront of capdevilla lol, to him him he must have had his arms stretched towards capdevilla, which wasn't the case.

for the offside, ok, it was offside, but not as obvious as some. As yuko said, the linsmen positioning was awful, and he really couldn't see, unline the goal tevez scored for example.

It's not an excuse that the linesman's positioning is awful. It's his fault.
