And many people on FIF think that taking a penalty is the easiest thing in the world ...

Depends. If it's a league game then penalty is a very easy chance to score a goal and there won't be as much pressure. If it's a world cup and in the last few mins, then it's a completely different pressure game.

True, but I think taking a panalty in a derby or in the last game of the season when CL is on the line the pressure isn't much less. Here people often act that a penalty is always a goal and only shit players or mentally weak players can't score them.

But my friend, loosing is not direct product of mentality....take a look at other nations, bigger and stronger then Balkan countries...they all loose...not one of them win every time....Mentality can play maybe 5% role on winning or loosing...there's much more and many more factors that decide, not mentality.
So i guess, from today's game we can say, Balkan mentality beats Scandinavian mentality :) jk...it was a good game from both sides..both fought hard, you cant say Croatia got lucky..not at all...if anything, Denmark got lucky with Modric's missed Pk in overtime....
It's not about losing. Its about THAT key moment in match and complete collapse after. And in 99% they will flop in this moment. And this concerns team sports.Last team with strong mentally here in Croatia was probably handball NT with one of the best ever in this sport,Ivano Balić.

This today was that 1%.After that Modric penalty usually there will be completely mental breakdown.Like before 10 years vs Turkey with that disastrous penalties. We all know here that we are out after that last second goal.

One "funny" thing...thief Modric after match sings well known song here in Croatia "It's not all in money".Please somebody kill me.

Yeah, I was talking about general league games, not high profile ones.

Penalty taking and saving is a skill. I for one argue against penalty goals when we compare goal scoring records of some players as scoring from penalty means plays doesn't make any movement or any effort, he gets a free shot from the spot.

Overall, every goal counts but when comparing, it gives unfair advantage to one player.

They're paid to do it and practice it. It's their profession. Especially a striker needs to hit it.
