I think he owes us another season and he knows it. Hopefully he doesn't start playing well so much so that Chelsea would want to keep him. Then in the summer he should reject every other destination and join us for one more year.

Positive performance. Our attack was going through him in the second half. Continue getting fitter and sharper and deliver what you owe us

He doesn't owe anything at his current state. And I don't wanna get my hopes up on him for next season because we should be looking for another alternatives.

Regarding his performance last night, he was actually doing good things in the second half, which is still nothing impressive but considering his lack of playing time and his current form, that's at least a baby step towards his eventual returning in form.

First half was brutally bad, but let's not get harsh over it. His confidence seems to be at bottom as well, so.

All I want from Lukaku is just to perform at least good enough in these remaining matches. That way, we will have more options in our attack and Dzeko will have his proper rest in some matches so we can rotate between Dzeko, Lukaku and Lautaro. And I'm not even mentioning Correa because he's a zero.

The only benefit of him on the pitch is that usually two defenders are on him. Sooner or later, they will realize one is enough, or none.

Other than the hold up play, I didn't see much of him that I liked. He failed to read the crosses in terms of positioning, always a step behind.
That being said, I would start him in the derby again. Milan's defenders are in garbage form and he should be able to do the same thing as last night with holding the ball and buying precious seconds while everyone runs into space. Save Dzeko for the second half.

I agree but I'm sure it's really hard for Inzaghi to drop Dzeko in this form, the guy is having a brilliant season.

Nothing positive about last night but at least he wasn't a negative presence for once.

He hasn't played in a very long time and is having a tough time to recover himself. At least give him credit for doing small things which were at least useful in some occasions. Nobody said he was impressive, but at least he did some little things unlike other times he was completely off.

At least, he gives hope for the rest of the season, unlike Correa.

His hold up play and and 1 touch lay off passes were good, which is clearly a key tactic for us in the final third.

Why are there rumours about Marotta taking early steps to extend Lukaku for next season?

I wish both Lukaku and Marotta would fuck off.

Because that's what dimwits with no visions do.

Because they've already agreed to it.
Only a change in ownership/management or something extraordinary from Chelsea's way would change that.

How do you know that they've already agreed to it?
Since you guys love rumours, there were plenty of rumors last summer saying that we had agreed on a 2 year loan. Knowing our management's incompetence, I'm not suspicious about these rumors.

I haven't seen anything such as agreed on a 2 year loan.

Besides of that, it makes no sense on extending his loan for another season. Like I said, hopefully he's gonna be at least good enough for these remaining matches and then we have to focus on getting quality alternatives for the next season.

It was talked about back then that it could be a 2-year-loan agreed but not written.

It would bad. Very bad if we keep paying Lukaku top salary. Enormous risk also as his injuries seem to be bad ones, his body is just failing him after almost 15 years in pro football. So we would be committed to high salary player who might have constantly some issues with fitness.
