Why do I get the feeling he’ll have a goal drought when he comes back.. I hope this doesn’t fuck with him mentally
He needs a month or two to get back into his Chelsea's form.

Already seeing reports he will be eased back for the viktoria plzen game.

So, first reports were he would be back for the Udinese game. That's a whole month or more later. If he's back by then too. Ridiculous

So latest from Appiano is Lukaku has actually recovered from his injury but since Correa was ready they didn't want to take any risks. Barring any surprises in the tests next week he's expected to be in the squad against Fiorentina.

That doesn't make sense. If he's injury free he should at least be on the bench against Salernitana.

Romelu Lukaku is no longer an irreplaceable player for Inter Milan.
The best match of the season against Barcelona, in the hell of the Nou Camp, showed how the Nerazzurri have overcome the mental handicap of not having one of the best strikers in the club's history on the team.
The problem with his leg flexors is much more serious than expected and the player is also afraid of jeopardising his participation in the Qatar World Cup.
Romelu Lukaku's physical problems are worse than feared and causing Inter Milan a headache.
Simone Inzaghi hasn't been able to play Lukaku since the end of August after several setbacks.
Inter fans were enthusiastic about his return and even forgave him the night escape to London to join Chelsea, but today they are very worries about the team's future and have started to feel less and less love towards Lukaku.
Lukaku's stats are not disastrous but they are not only a mirror of difficulties related to Simone Inzaghi's system but also to his physique that is full of scars and problems.
There is perhaps a diplomatic rift between Lukaku and Inter since the player, as reported by Sky Sport Italia, decided to return to Belgium at the beginning of September in order to be able to continue treatment in his homeland.
This estrangement did not allow the club to constantly monitor his progress and since then his physical conditions seems to have deteriorated further.

At the end of the season, Inter will carry out a tactical, technical and economic analysis to try and understand what the future should be for a player who, at the age of 30, has discovered his muscles are as a fragile as butter.
The Belgian has missed more games in the last two years than in the whole of his career prior to that.
Lukaku's statistics create a lot of embarrassment: 17 games lost to injury since the start of 2021-22 season compared to just 16 in the previous years.
The last time Lukaku played was on August 26, in the 3-1 defeat to Maurizio Sarri's Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico. Since then he has become a ghost and has failed every attempt at physical recovery.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Inter staff and coach Inzaghi are very surprised by Lukaku's collapse in condition and his inability to recover for the match against Salernitana this Sunday after several weeks off.
This follows Lukaku's disappointing first season back at Chelsea after they spent £97.5million.
Lukaku is such a strong boy but these athletic problems mean the large investment planned to buy him in June 2023 is not justified.
Inter will be prudent when it comes to his physical conditions but it is evident how they are all astonished by the physical collapse of a boy who in his first Italian experience was like a hurricane that knocked down every defender in his path.

IS LUKAKU A MIRACLE OF CONTE?

In Italy, the most obvious feeling is that Lukaku is simply the most successful result of Antonio Conte, who managed to transform a normal player into a top player by physically reconstructing the Belgian striker like a Riace bronze.
In his career, Lukaku has only peaked under the physical and technical management of Conte. The Italian coach always studied the career of the Antwerp-born giant, managing to find a perfect tactical position for him.
Without Conte, Lukaku's career would have evaporated back to the clumsy levels of Manchester United.
It seems only Antonio Conte knows how to get the best out of the giant Belgian striker.
It seems only Antonio Conte knows how to get the best out of the giant Belgian striker
Can a single coach exaggerate the qualities of a young athlete? Probably the answer is yes, considering that Lukaku was only considered a top player in the period spent close to his favourite manager.
Lukaku isn't decisive when he has to talk to his team-mates and his best quality is to split defences in two by running vertically.
When he fails to exploit these characteristics he becomes useless and for this he had his great conflict with Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.
Paolo Di Canio told Sky Sport in the past that he always defined Lukaku as a 'big soft panther' - not very bad and not very incisive.
In the past his judgements seemed excessive but today they perfectly reflect the problems that 'Big Rom' is going through in his second life in Serie A.
The failure of his second adventure at Chelsea confirmed his particular character and that he only gets along with Conte.

Yeah, only scary party in that story is if we've really planned signing him permanently. :D

If it was possible to get back half the loan money (4m€), I'd send him back and sign someone from the January window. This guy is totally fucking useless bum. You weren't suppose to pick this kind of injury when we paid 8m€ for a season long loan. Specially as it takes time for him to get back to fitness so it's weeks and weeks going down the drain.

The quote about Inter signing him permanently is just wishful thinking from England. Both Matt Law and Di Marzio have said Inter and Chelsea have a verbal agreement to extend the loan for one more season with Inter paying another 10m. We don't have the money to sign him permanently so i am not worried about it.

Stop everything! STOP!
Do NOT extend. Do NOT buy. Do NOT touch this guy. Let him go back to the hellhole he crawled out of and let us all move forward as a club, this whole deal is such a fiasco, it's incredible.

Break the verbal agreement, I don't care and if Inzaghi is not happy, sack him too. There is no reason in this world to continue with a player like Lukaku past 30. I'm pretty sure he is going to comeback fat as f*ck and walk around the pitch aimlessly looking like the hippo from Madagascar.

His contribution has been close to negative given the opportunity cost so far as he's the most paid player, but has played in only 3 games.

I know no one could have predicted this kind of injury time with Lukaku. But this making sure he's completely fit and bla bla speaks volumes of player himself not caring much about what happens to his employer. Looks more like he's just making sure he's 100% fit for the World Cup and nothing else can come between him and that (usually players play with knocks here and there if the situation requires it).

So unless he really tears the league apart in the second half of the season, I wouldn't even extend the loan. I mean, tearing the league apart is a completely viable and possible scenario, so let's see. But the results need to determine everything. We owe this guy nothing and he owes us everything.

There is no single reason to extend his loan let alone acquiring him permanently. He didn't do anything when he played and now he spends more time watching our game than playing. His only notable highlight from this season is his hugging with Lautaro and some worthless interviews. Just offload him at the end of season and never touch him again.
