Lukaku using us for the World Cup is the dumbest theory I have seen here and that is saying something. This guy literally came back too early to play for us and ended up getting injured again when he could have played it safe and just chilled until World Cup

The rumor now is that he’ll be fit for Last 16, good news for us is I don’t think Belgium will even get to that point

People act like this is a new concept. Every four years you see players demand transfers to try and put themselves in a position to make the World Cup squads. Why do you think Gosens was strongly linked with transfers out on deadline day? Gabriel Jesus moved to Arsenal because he wanted to prove he could be Brazil's #9, rather than winning trophies as a super sub at City. Lukaku returning to Inter isn't some tinfoil hat conspiracy theory. He was unhappy at Chelsea, he didn't get along with Tuchel, and I'm sure he wanted to be guaranteed playing time ahead of the World Cup.

We have no reason to believe Lukaku is faking this injury. Many of us pointed out during the summer that Lukaku might trouble to stay for without Pintus and Conte. He has a body type that history shows will not age well.

Let's hope management has the competence to move on from Lukaku in the summer and find a permanent, long-term solution. I would love to find someone more creative to pair with Lautaro.

Their current generation is already too old for a silverware in 2022. Their best shot for a trophy was in 2016 when they choked against Wales.
