I don't know what to say. I am too tired, sleepy and busy this time so I'll just highlight the pros and cons that I saw today.
CONS
- Mancini made a tactical disaster. Fielding 5 offensive players in Veron, Recoba, Oba, Adri and Deki is just purely suicidal. Thank God Cambiasso did well in the anchor role.
- Defence has been crap, yet again. Even though the second goal was unstoppable, both goals are results of p!ss poor defending. Cordoba screwed up with the first. But Burdisso and Javier Zanetti played parts in it too. Burdisso failed to cover the near post, causing Cordoba to move there. Cordoba fails to head the ball properly and J.Zanetti gave Mancini so much time and space to cross. Care to tell me how Roma went 3 vs 1 for the third goal? Absolute shambels.
- Adriano fails to score for the second consecutive Serie A games. :scared:
- Veron was poor, other than the goal.
- And so was Deki, who I think need some rest. He hasn't been his old self over the last few games. Mind you that I did not see the Anderlecht game.
- Losing a 3-1 lead against Roma, yet again. I believe we lost a 3-0 lead against them in 02/03 in San Siro.
- I don't know if it was a tactical mistake but Javier Zanetti was a mere shadow of his oldself. He gave Mancini way too much space on the left. I don't know if he was assigned to do zonal marking but he hardly man-mark Mancini and Mancini ran riot. It got better in the second half though.
- Martins. :depress: I wonder how bad is his injury.
PROS
- Finally, someone other than Martins, Adriano, Stankovic and Recoba scores.
- We showed that we are not Adriano-dependant over the last 3 games.
- We are still unbeaten. Overall, Mancini played 7 games and won 3. He averaged just below 2 points per game. Not a championship-team record but it's not bad at all. Valencia, champion of La Liga last season, recorded 2 points per game (Just in La Liga) if I'm not wrong.
- Cambiasso. :star:
All in all, the performance wasn't good but the result is good, not great. A draw in the Olimpico against Roma, runner-up to last season, is not a disaster. The team certainly doesn't deserve all the curse I read in the forum for the result. It is kinda frustrating though that we enter the short break at the back of a draw in a game we should have won.
