At least there was a sliver of logic behind Eriksen benching. It could be rationalized such as still needed adaptation, not defensive or physical enough. And above all, the best justification was Conte still delivered victories so fans could still accept it.
Gosens' case doesn't make sense at all. When you compare him with Darmian or Dimarco, the former wins in almost every aspect of football. The only exception is delivery quality where Dimarco is undisputedly the best. But that's it and by overall, Gosens is still our best LWB by considerable margin. He is one of a prominent LWB in the world, he plays in a familiar system like in Atalanta, it is almost 1 year already since he arrived here and he trained together a lot. There is no adaption and integration excuse anymore. Even when we do not play to his strength, his other qualities are still better than his 2 competitors. Now that we are in shamble, Inzaghi will endure bigger pressure breathing down his neck when the result does not improve while the better player is kept on the bench.

According to GDS, Inter wanted Kostic, but Inzaghi insisted on Gosense. Go figure...
Since when has GdS been a source we should listen to? They are reporting so much garbage that it's impossible to detect when it's real thing and when it's invention.

He was available in January and almost joined us or Lazio.

We got Gosens only after Zhang approved it. The alternatives were cheap as hell.

Eriksen 2.0. He was a Marotta/Ausilio signing and Inzaghi never wanted him.
So inzaghi never wanted him, he also doesn't mind Perisic move, who does he wanted then? Or he already satisfied with dimarco and darmian?

I think Inzaghi has realized how devoid this team is of attacking options with Lukaku injured and Perisic gone. The only card he has up his sleeve is Dimarco, which is why we keep forcing him onto the pitch despite the fact he's a horrible LWB.

As to why Inzaghi prefers Darmian, I have no idea. Darmian hasn't been good since Conte left.

Italian. Experienced.

Darmian is fine in a pinch but to use him as a full-on starter? Ludicrous. It’s time to use Gosens. Stop fucking around Limone.

Leverkusen indeed contacted him but he refused and wanted to stay at Inter. Fairplay to him considering World Cup year.

"I'm a boy from the village and I need my peace and quiet,"

Another Eriksen huh?

GOSENS REVEALS TRUTH ABOUT COLLAPSED INTER EXIT

Robin Gosens confirms he snubbed a move to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window: ‘I am not done at Inter.’

The Germany international had joined the Nerazzurri on loan with an option to buy from Atalanta in January but has had highs and lows at Inter where he has been recovering from a severe groin injury sustained a year ago with La Dea. He is now back with his national team and is available to face Hungary and England in the next two Nations League group-stage games. They are in Group C with Italy.

“I definitely don’t have the World Cup ticket yet. I’m still fighting my way back,” Gosens told Sport 1.
I’m not in the same shape I was in Bergamo. I’m close, but at the same time, I know that there is still a lot of work to do.

“My family has always been my guarantee of success. I can always count on my wife. When I was injured, my son was born. All of that was positive. We footballers already live in a kind of parallel world and need this family grounding.

“I play for a world club and I’m happy at Inter,” he continued.
I aim to assert myself at this big club. I have to play three, four, five games in a row now. That’s what I’m working towards. I also have to get into a rhythm with a view to the World Cup.

“I spoke to [Bayer director] Simon Rolfes on the phone and it was an open and honest exchange. I told him that I’m not done at Inter.
“I feel very comfortable at Inter at the moment and I’m certainly not there against my will. I am fully motivated but I’m only really satisfied when I’m on the pitch, I expect this from myself.”

Rolfes claimed on August 31, one day before the end of the summer transfer window, that the Bundesliga side were not interested in the Germany international and was the first one to confirm that Bayer would not have signed him from Inter.
I have nothing but respect for this guy. Hope to see him regularly on the pitch ASAP.

Of the Nerazzurri’s victory over Sassuolo, Zenga said that “It’s a very important victory, three points in the table that is more than fair and confirms what we saw against Barcelona, that this is a real team that knows how to be compact, suffer and fight.”
“The thing that surprised me most was seeing Skriniar come on for D’Ambrosio,” he added.
Zenga also weighed in on the situation of wingback Gosens who has never really found form with the Nerazzurri, stating that “In January he will leave or so I’ve heard.”

“I heard that he will probably return to Germany,” he explained.

If the Bayer L offer is still on the table and Xabi Alonso rates him, Gosens might reconsider staying here

Never expected his Inter career to turn out like this. The main reason I was ok with not extending Perisic's contract was because I thought we have a WC replacement in Gosens.

Yeah how wrong all has gone with Gosens.

Team/Inzaghi is just unable to utilize Gosens' strengths in any capacity?

Even though i would have loved to see this guy thrive because of the investment , the hype , the hope you name it I can't really blame Inzaghi tbh.

Whenever he has had a chance , whether from the beginning or during the game he has done nothing to make you think , ohh this guy deserves more chances.
I might hate Darmian , but when he comes in the pitch , you can see a sense of determination which in many cases actually leads to a dangerous occasion being created because of him , even though he might be limited technically. Gosens on the other side has always done the safe pass backwards . Injuries aside he really seems to lack confidence since at Inter for some reason.
