Mancini for me has been outstanding this season.
His ability to read the game has been really brilliant, introducing players at the right time *i.e. Figo* I'm glad he's developing more.

I dont care what you say alvaro as long as you have solid footing to back up your claim. There is no denying that on several occasions this season Figo has been clutch for us with his superb crossing.

Is there any chance that you may ever acknowledge his contributions to the team??

MANCINI: "A GREAT BUNCH OF PLAYERS"
Wednesday, 24 January 2007 23:06:03
GENOA - "It wasn't an easy game, but we put things on the right track thanks to the early goal after just a few minutes," remarked a satisfied Roberto Mancini after Inter's 3-0 cup semi-final first leg victory at Sampdoria. "After that we did well to control the game. The boys played a great game.
A second-string Inter today? There's no second-string Inter. Those who played today were those who didn't play on Sunday, and who had been used less so far. Are we playing off by heart? It's just the merit of the great players I have in my squad. They are good and they do everything well.

Now we can turn our attention to the championship. We'll be back here on Sunday and we'll have the chance to field a few of the players who rested this evening. Grande Mancini.:D

Chelsea want Mancini replacing Jose'

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is lining up Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini to replace Jose Mourinho in case the Blues manager leaves at the end of the season, according to a report on Thursday. To get the latest Premiership scores, simply SMS the letters SPREM to 34911 and the day's final scores will be sent to your cellphone. This is a SuperSMS service and costs just R2 per SMS.
Former Sampdoria, Lazio and Italy striker Mancini is in demand after leading Italian champions Inter to the top of Serie A this season with an 11-point cushion.
And despite recently pledging his future to the club, Mancini - who worked as an assistant to Sven-Goran Eriksson when the Swede was in charge of Lazio - is rumoured to be tempted by a move to the Premiership.
Abramovich and Mourinho have not seen eye to eye of late, mainly over the Russian billionaire's refusal to sanction the signing of new players during the January transfer window.
The Sun claimed on Thursday that despite peace talks having taken place, Mourinho is secretly planning his exit from Stamford Bridge for the end of the season.
The report also said Abramovich is lining up Mancini to come in and replace the former FC Porto coach to avoid being left high and dry.
The report quoted a source as saying: "Abramovich has made up his mind that he wants Mancini. Chelsea know that he is in demand."
Mourinho recently said he had persuaded England skipper Terry to sign a new contract worth £150 000 per week by assuring the centre-half he plans to be at Chelsea next season.
Mourinho said: "He asked me if I was staying and my answer was 'I think so'."

I don't want to lose Mancini to Chelsea or any other team.

I can't see us fail in the league this year and hence I'd like to keep him.

If Mancini wants to stay I am fine with that. But if he wants an english adventure than I trade Mancio for the special one is all good for me.

But we gotta to see if mancio renews the contract or not first.

I think whatever happens we are in a good position. We are most likley gonna win the scudetto this year, and possibly other competitions. Now if Mancini was to leave to Chelsea, then guess who is gonna come to Inter...Morinho. Not that I want Mancini to leave, I really don't. But worst case scenario he does, and we get Morinho.

That doesn't sound too bad to me.

I dont think Mancini should necessarily leave at the end of the season. I think both he and the management are waiting to see what happens. From the management's POV if he fails to win the Scudetto or gets bounced from the CL by Valencia it might be probable cause to end the relationship.

From Mancini's POV he sees it as an advantage if he wins and does well at the end of the season he will have probable cause to get his contract improved and put pressure on the management by showing them offers from other clubs.

The move has its risks but resigning him now also has its risks. IMO waiting until the end of the season would allow for more than enough time to replace him should the extension not be worked out.

First of all,i'm not a great fan of mancini, never been...
but he most likely will deliver this season, + if he gets far in CL....we will all rate this season as great..
anyway,it would be very unserious not renewing Mancio's contract...and he would probably continue the reign at the top of serie A next season ..
i think we should keep the coach, not change anything.....maybe a player or two in the summer.......and wait for juBe ;)

I've read somewhere hypotize that Mancini wanna do the same thing like Lippi - after winning leave. To be remembered as a winner.

Although to be honest, I won't remember Mancini as a winner if he quits at the end of the season.

Even though no one can take credit from us this season, without Juve, and with Milan in such a shambolic form, this win somehow feels half-empty.

That is true in some sense, but if we win it the way we are playing, not any type of competition will be missed.

I do not think Mancini will leave Inter at the end of the season. The delay in his signing a contract is down to waiting until he can use the winning of silverware as a bargaining chip. If he wins the Scudetto, and any other trophy then he will be able to ask for a better contract. Why should he sign something now when in all likelihood, he will win something, and be able to ask for a better contract? Of course, the risk of this is that come the end of the season, Chelsea will simply throw all the money they have at Mancini and he will leave.

I am with mancini on this, wether or not he signs a contract now is irrelevant at this point, there are more important things to look ahead to,particulary the CL and scuetto and make inter win something important, and to me this is the ratio of importance:-

Inter Winning CL and Scuetto 1000000% Importance
Mancini Renweing Contract 000000000% Importance

in the end of the season, when hopefully inter will be champions he can disscuss with moratti what he wants to do,also there is the clause of automatic extension clause if inter win the scudetto, the contract issue is not an issue at all right now.

Obviously. But still, it's better to win fair than losing to cheaters.
