To try and follow up on 80s/90s football, Stojkovic - who's on a league of his own anyway – questionable transfer moves and all the different what-ifs of a player's career (but moving from the Jugoslavian “school” to the Magyar one), mandatory:

Lajos Detari also managed to show glimpses of his class against us, playing in heavy rains on the waterlogged pitch of the Stadio Del Conero (it was a memorable, at least for the Marchigiani supporters, Ancona-Inter 3-0, 1992/1993 season).

Retro note about that 1992/1993 season for Inter: just today Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Andrea Masala came up with a video emphasizing the obvious difference between the current training camp in Lugano (behind close doors and with unprecedented levels of security) and that summer preparation in Cavalese (Fiemme Valley, Trentino) with Osvaldo Bagnoli as a coach.

Both journalists and fans were literally on the sideline, listening to l'Usvald/“il Mago della Bovisa” yelling at his players, and they could hang with everyone after training: as always, Zenga was a bit “bossy”, Bergomi the silent leader, Berti was jokingly slapping Schillaci on the neck after Totò's legendary grammatical errors during the interviews, and so on.

At the risk of sounding stereotypical (again), “those were different times”... a genuine “pane e salame” ritiro (bread and salami, as we say).

Not a video nor a documentary, but this will be the ball with which Italian Serie C teams will play next season, to celebrate the anniversary of Lega Pro (1959-2019).

Are they shipping that internationally or could I find it at my local Decathlon store? :)

On another note, this featured on my youtube feed as a new upload of a subscribed channel.

Going to post it on Mancio's thread too.

I don't know about distribution, but Erreà has an online store with international deliveries and they better be quick enough to capitalize and provide infos, judging from the good feedback and social media reactions.

Meanwhile, it looks like C60 will be sold as celebratory product (given the partnership between Lega Pro and Erreà), but it won't be used as official ball of the new Serie C season. Erreà deleted the first official announcement on which all the media articles from yesterday were based and uploaded a different one, which highlights only the celebratory aspect.

On a side note, that vintage ball would go well with this pair of classic handcrafted “Pantofola d'Oro” boots (“Golden Slippers”).

A brand chosen by many fuoriclasse over the years... including il Mancio himself, who wore standard logo Pantofola d'Oro among other boots during his legendary seasons at Sampdoria with president Paolo Mantovani (the raise to the very top of the Blucerchiati and the ethical/aesthetical/actual competition of the club against “il sistema” of traditional big teams), before his famous Asics stint and Lazio.

(Another superb compilation by that guy, but it's funny that Moscardelli is still his most watched video, outclassing absolute legends of all calibers and different decades – the power of YouTube algorithms + the mythical beard).

I feel like it was the way he named the video "Davide Moscardelli is too good for Balon d'Or" that made the difference haha

It was serious clickbait (serious but not that scandalous, considering the player we're talking about), but it's a fact the compilation became viral in a matter of days when it appeared among the Youtube "suggested videos" worldwide.

Many across the globe are still asking how it could happen (at least, the ones who still don't believe in Moscardelli).

Seriously, it was a well-deserved parable which started from parodic social media pages about football like "Chiamarsi Bomber" and "Calciatori Ignoranti". Meanwhile, Pisa got promoted in Serie B after the playoff and Moscardelli is set to continue with the Nerazzurri.

I love this channel. Signori simply cannot be forgotten, great striker. Thrown out by Inter because he was "too short".

Beppe-gol and that feeling he would have scored against us every single time, with his deadly left foot but not only: already an example from 1:45 in the compilation, with Signori running at and through our defense and beating Beniamino Abate with a diagonale.

Seriously, I feel like he found the net 10 times or something against us in his post-Zemanlandia career, wearing Lazio and Bologna shirts.

It was fun to imitate his penalty kicks with no run-up (not in actual games though, too risky).
Sadly, just like Mancini, he had a difficult relationship with la Nazionale Azzurra and its coaches, Sacchi being the common denominator.

Mandatory Valderrama after what happened to his hair in this fresh new commercial for Codere Colombia (private gaming).

Or, directly, 10 minutes of pases only.

Franko Baresi was thrown out for the same reason.

And now we're signing Barellas and Sensis.

I think Franco Baresi was deemed "too skinny" :D Too bad Beppe was also just a kid at Inter and didn't have any pull at the club to force them to give him a shot...

Some real gems in here. Sound is off for some of them which is a shame.

The best gems are those players who just take off their jersey and run off.. fuck FIFA ffs.

Some of Alan Shearer's best goals. The best English striker since Gary Lineker. [though Michael Owen was close to surpassing him, he didn't last that long]

Speaking about European Cup finals (before the “Uefa Champions League” rebranding):

https://twitter.com/classicshirts/status/1175091056658001921

Crouch mentions his collection of Samp shirts and how Vialli was his idol from that team including il Mancio, [Popeye] Attilio Lombardo, [lo Zar] Pietro Vierchowod... Immediate answer from the club blucerchiato: “If you need a 2019/20 jersey to complete your collection, get in touch and we'll sort you out”.

He was a kid when he attended Sampdoria-Barcelona at Wembley in 1992. Another loss for la Doria against Barça, three years later, but this time on the biggest stage in Europe. Sliding doors in a night of regrets.

On another and more joyful note about that Samp and the great era of President Paolo Mantovani: 1990/91 season, matchday 33 of Serie A, Sampdoria-Lecce 3-0 and three great goals by Toninho Cerezo, Mannini and Vialli to win the historic scudetto.

Some CL oldies. mostly only goal videos. Will do a second post sometime in the future with more recent ones as this covers the first 10 seasons of Champions League only. And only group stages regardless of phase.
Some names (team or player) may say a lot to some, some may not saying anything, but most games were picked for nostalgia reasons.

Lazio vs Real Madrid 2000/01 (2nd group phase)

Anderlecht vs Man Utd 2000-01 (Group stage, vital win for Anderlectht which enabled them to top the group, with a 90th minute win in a PSV away thriller in their next game, which I'll post below)

PSV vs Anderlecht 2000-01 (Group stage, see above. Plot twist, PSV goes through instead of the Belgians if they win)

Milan vs Chelsea 1999/00 (Group phase, Milan choked out of the group into 4th spot, see next video)

Galatasaray vs Milan 1999/00 (Group phase, as mentioned above, the last game of this group and Milan needs a win to get to the next phase, yet they crash out with a loss which took Galatasaray to the Uefa Cup, which they ended up winning against Arsenal in that infamous final.
Emre Belozoglu, Buruk Okan and Hakan Sukur took part in the game and that was when Moratti would buy anyone he saw on tv :D )

Porto vs PSV 1992-93 (Quarter finals, first edition of CL had this split into two Groups so it was a group game)

Liverpool vs Barcelona 2001-02 (2nd group phase)

Sturm Graz vs Marseille 1999-00 (Group stage)

Panathinaikos vs Real Madrid 2001-02 (2nd group phase, final match, both teams satisfied with the result as they qualify for quarters, since Porto did not capitalize on this result)

Bayern Munchen vs PSG 1997-98 (Group stage; if you think Karius was some kind of novelty, watch this)

Goteborg vs Barcelona 1994-95 (Group stage)

Dortmund vs Parma 1997-98 (Group stage)

Dynamo Kyiv vs Arsenal 1998-99 (Group Stage)

Juventus vs Hamburg 2000-01 (Group stage; Juventus needs a win in the last two games to qualify, they lose both. ACtually they could have drawn both games and still go through. First this one, then the away game vs Panathinaikos who got the 2nd place behind Deportivo. Bonus: Zidane headbutts someone not named Materazzi :) )

Celtic vs Juventus 2001-02 (Group stage, Juventus is already through and Celtic needs a win in the hope that Porto does not win their fixture to continue to the CL. Porto wins though)

Bayer Leverkusen vs Juventus 2001-02 (2nd group phase. Let's be real, nothing beats Juventus crashing out of the CL, especially starting by conceding a PK that was done outside the area and then getting their hopes up. And here they lost to a team they beat 4-0 in the first game of the group which ended up being the finalist. This was the 5th game of the group, Juventus had only 4 points after this and they beat Arsenal to reach them on 7 pts and pack their bags together whilst Deportivo and Leverkusen went through)

Nostalgia hit me about the joga bonito type of players. Keeping it to the 1990s and on, here is my crazy XI, in a crazy formation. I'll add some videos to the post tonight.

-------------------------Higuita

Maicon---------------------------------------Roberto Carlos

------------------------Redondo

----------------Stojkovic-------M. Laudrup

----Ronaldinho-------Djalminha---------Denilson

--------------Ibrahimovic----Ronaldo

Bench would include Antonio Cassano, Lucio, Gheorghe Hagi, Jay Jay Okocha, Guti, Luis Figo and Ricardo Quaresma.

I know we shouldn't wish any luck to Swedish teams, given our relatively recent tradition against them, but I wouldn't mind an improbable European resurgence of Goteborg (I blame the shirt).

I read Jay-Jay Okocha a few days after the Brazil-Nigeria friendly and it's an automatic throwback to Atlanta 96, with or without embedding.
