Being slightly better then a bunch of average players doesn't turn you into a quality fullback.Shaw has turned things around and he has been decent in the last two seasons but i had more Walker and Alexander Arnold in my mind when i posted this.
You look at it from the wrong perspective. The important thing isn't if you take them at Inter but how they rank compared to the fullbacks of other national teams.
There's really a shortage of quality fullbacks in top national teams. Especially for rb. Brazil have Danilo. France use Pavard and Kounde, two natural cbs. Germany are forced to use Kimmich as they have no one else. Spain play Marcos Llorente who is a midfielder. Only Molina and our guys, current and ex (Dumfries, Cancelo, Hakimi), can be considered quality rbs but they also have their weaknesses. So when you look at England options compared to the competition they look pretty good.
I didn't include tta as he hardly every plays, Southgate shits his pants at the though of stones/mcguire trying to cover the space.
I don't rate shaw at all. Don't see the so-called improvement. Might not be as fat as mou called him but still should be nowhere near man utd.
