Shaw has turned things around and he has been decent in the last two seasons but i had more Walker and Alexander Arnold in my mind when i posted this.

You look at it from the wrong perspective. The important thing isn't if you take them at Inter but how they rank compared to the fullbacks of other national teams.

There's really a shortage of quality fullbacks in top national teams. Especially for rb. Brazil have Danilo. France use Pavard and Kounde, two natural cbs. Germany are forced to use Kimmich as they have no one else. Spain play Marcos Llorente who is a midfielder. Only Molina and our guys, current and ex (Dumfries, Cancelo, Hakimi), can be considered quality rbs but they also have their weaknesses. So when you look at England options compared to the competition they look pretty good.
Being slightly better then a bunch of average players doesn't turn you into a quality fullback.
I didn't include tta as he hardly every plays, Southgate shits his pants at the though of stones/mcguire trying to cover the space.

I don't rate shaw at all. Don't see the so-called improvement. Might not be as fat as mou called him but still should be nowhere near man utd.

I'm not saying England are bad overall, but they underperformed until Southgate took them over.

I've also been a fan of Kane, but he does play for Spurs and lacks just the last push to be as good as Rooney was (meaning, stepping up to win titles)

England wanted a tournament coach - they have it. Unless they get Ancelotti/Mourinho, I don't see them doing a lot better than this.

England is overrated. They're blaming Southgate lol. Reminds me of how that overrated mid 2000s side reached QFs every time and they wanted more, while beheading Sven in the process. He took them as far as they should have gone and the fact that they went out on details rather than by being destroyed was a feat on its own.

Southgate got lucky with the KO runs but again, he took them as far as they should have gone.

There was this image of the teams that England beat in World Cups since 2006. It's hilarious :D Italy's list from post-2006 is also laughable I imagine, but at least it includes.. England :D

Italy if we only included world cups are dreadful since 2006. Out in 2 group stages and didn't qualify for the other 2.

2010 Italy lost to Slovakia and drew with Paraguay and New Zealand.
2014 italy managed to beat England, lost to Costa Rica and lost to Uruguay.
