Problems with the Forum

A lot of the time, I can't access the forum on my home PC or even on my phone using my wifi. I need to use my phone and use the 4G network to reliably get on the forum.

Am I IP-banned or something?

if you were ip-banned you'd get a message telling you to kindly go fuck yourself as opposed to the site just not loading. if you can hit the site from one network but not the other, there's not much we can look at on our end as the issue resides somewhere between the 2 endpoints. i've had it happen a couple times in the past but when i checked the logs i never saw any sign of the traffic making it to our server

it's showing up fine. ctrl+F5 should clear it up

Vas, I've been struggling with using the space key in the post quick reply box. Sometimes it works, but other times I'm forced to click "Go Advanced". Any reason for this? I know JJM has had the same issue

You should press Enter and then delete the newly created row. This seems to solve the problem for me.

You're using Chrome I'm pretty sure. It's a bug created by a browser update and it affects vBulletin v4 CKEditor.

At their forums the support guys say they won't be fixing it, as vB4 isn't an active product. There are workarounds, but nothing easier than hitting enter I'm afraid.

That said, any plans for updating this thing to version 5?

no immediate plans. between the effort of doing it, the downtime, troubleshooting whatever issues arise with themes, plugins, etc.and having to drop $200 for an upgrade license it hasn't really been a priority. at some point we'll probably move hosts and take that opportunity to upgrade vb
