Well it seems that Ausilio knows something! Sorry for Wobblz & others

Report: Ausilio until 2022

Inter have reportedly come to an agreement with sporting director Piero Ausilio and are set to extend his contract until June 2022.

The setback against Lazio last weekend means that Inter have fallen behind in the title race and are now three points off the top in Serie A.

But the President Steven Zhang has issued his faith in the current group and should be ready to enter negotiations with his trusted men at the Giuseppe Meazza.

La Repubblica reports that Ausilio, who has been working for Inter since 1998 and was appointed sporting director in 2014, has already agreed to renew his contract with the club.

He will now be tied to the club until the summer of 2022 as Inter continue to work with the brain behind signings like Marcelo Brozovic, Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar and Lautaro Martinez.

Ah, he's good when he has someone to overlook him, someone like Sabatini or Marotta to help him out with the big picture. I don't mind him staying with us, what I'm opposed to is giving this man any more power than he already has.

The Gazzetta dello Sport confirms that Piero Ausilio will remain as Inter sporting director until June 30th, 2022.

Inter have decided to give Ausilio two more years which is consistent to the duration of Marotta and Conte as all three will have contract expire on the same date.

Ausilio has been Inter sporting director since December 2010 (appointed by Moratti then) when he joined Marco Branca and then succeeded him in 2014. But his Inter history began much earlier back in 1998: Ausilio has by far the longest tenure as an executive at this club.

In terms of results or trophies how many trophies would his contract renewal bring? Ausilio and trophies don’t mix.

He was part of the treble but sure...

Very confusing translation at football-italia.

At some point I thought Ausilio was saying that he himself was leaving Inter when he was actually talking about Werner not signing for Inter. Anyway, he looks fatter than before, which is a good look for him.

Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio & His Assistant Dario Baccin Set To Sign Contract Extensions
Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio & His Assistant Dario Baccin Set To Sign Contract Extensions

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio and his assistant Dario Baccin will sign new contracts with the Nerazzurri, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.

The report details how their contract extension was confirmed in the last few weeks, with the new deal set to expire in 2022. Both Ausilio and Baccin are appreciated by Inter’s management and the duo have helped to create a strong working group. The idea of renewing their contracts was already being considered last September, owing to their work together.

The Suning group wanted both the management and technical staff to be on contracts that expire at the same time, the report continues, with both Beppe Marotta and Antonio Conte’s contracts also set to expire in 2022. The goal of the club’s owners is to win the league before that date, but the club are not looking to rush and want to build a strong project for the future.

Can't say I'm surprised about the extension. Seems to have learned alot from Marotta which is good. Baccin is a must for unearthing young players.

I know this isn't the right thread for this but i didn't know where else to post it. According to Kicker, Inter are hiring Lutz Pfannenstiel as chief scout. He had previously worked as a scout at Hoffenheim and as a sporting director at Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Man who brought Firmino to Hoffenheim after discovering him in Football Manager and we are making him our head scout.

I think its better to be cautious.

I don't know his track record as a DoF or scout but this guy is verg well connected in football. Not sure if he has the right kind of experience, but if his role is limited to finding low cost u21s gems from all over the world for the Primavera then he might be ideal.
Chief scout sort of means that he'll overlook scouting activities and be more responsible for first team matters, but we'll see how he fares, assuming he arrives.

He is very well connected indeed, which could come in handy for such a job. Adding to that he could be a beneficial choice for Conte as they know themselves from Chelsea. Seeing what he contributed to at Hoffenheim is very impressing, but listening to him commenting games makes me puke, as he always analyzes players based on stereotypes (such as "Sanchez is well over the hill" etc.). Hopefully it is just him trying to be "entertaining".

According to Schira, Baccin rejected Parma's offer and he will stay at Inter. Carli of Cagliari will probably be Parma's new sporting director.
