For shits and giggles how do you guys think Allegri would line up next season based on our confirmed (Hakimi) and rumored moves (Tonali).

Lukaku - Lautaro
Eriksen
Tonali - Brozovic- Barella
Young - De Vrij - Skriniar - Hakimi

In all honesty wouldn’t be surprised if D’Ambrosio started over Hakimi with Allegri. Allegri also often used the back 3 before Barzagli slowed down.

Lukaku - Lautaro
Young - Tonali - Brozo - Barella - Hakimi
Bastoni - De Vrij - D’Ambrosio

He would probably start with a back 3 in order to maintain stability and he would slowly switch to a diamond. I would expect something like this:

Handanovic
D'Ambrosio-De Vrij-Skriniar-Young
Vecino/Gagliardini-Brozovic-Barella
Eriksen
Lukaku-Lautaro

Based on the treatment Cancelo received at Juventus, Hakimi would be fucked. I also wouldn't be surprised if Allegri preferred Vecino or Gagliardini over Tonali. Our 4th striker would certainly be Mandzukic as Allegri loves him. Allegri was the only reason Juventus offered extensions to Khedira and Mandzukic.

The only good thing about Allegri is he adapts to his players and the opponents but man in everything else he's so overrated.

Allegri isn't overrated, he's just pragmatic in the extreme. He's logical and generally you'll see the right players played in their best positions albeit erring on the side of caution. I'd rate him one of the most tactically competent coaches in the past 10 years.

I absolutely hate the idea of having to go through another coaching change then hiring another juve dickhead but if Conte leaves then we Allegri is 100% the right choice.

Allegri may not have a fixed philosophy like Guardiola or Conte. But, he is tactically flexible, very sharp when analyzing opposition’s gameplan.

i think allegri would be sensible. he gets some flak for his stuff at AC Milan, but i dont think its fully deserved, he's done better than Conte arguably when he's had good team and backing

It'd be interesting to see what he'd do with our squad - I could see Bastoni as a LB, so it might not ruin the work we've done, but either a new RB or RW/LW is going to be interesting and quite a radical. shift of transfer strategy.

As will midfield changes - if we're playina 4-2-3-1 (for example), where does that leave Lautaro or Sanchez?

Perhaps a narrow 4-3-3? But I dont feel massively keen on that

i really hate this thread
every fucking year we are talking about new coach even after a successful season just like this year
i hope conte stays but if he decided to leave at end of the season we should look at for a coach that knows how to play a 3 man defence system. pre season is too short this year and we don't have time to adapt to new system and even our recent expensive purchase was for 3 man defence system ffs.
this club never will be professional one and craziness always will be on our dna.

How is it club fault this time that the coach goes full drama queen mode on public tv for no reason.

Unfortunately the only option now is hiring Allegri and he can adapt to any formation so i have no worries about that.
I just hate a coach like him who plays on opponent weaknesses rather then building his own play style.

I still remember how he always used to play long ball to the player who was being marked by our shortest defender of the turn :p

realistically, he'll have spoken about these things loads of times internally before feeling compelled to go public

Allegri is a practical coach. I don't quite agree with the criticism about the playing style, and boring tactics. All those came up only in the last season or so at Juve. Overall I have seen him adapt the game based on the players he has, and getting the best out of them.

Notably stuff like using KP Boateng as AM at Milan, Mandzukic at LW, moving Cuadrado and Pjanic's positions to get the most out of it, and of course being flexible with 3-man and 4-man defence.

Considering our squad today is actually quite good, and we don't need to spend a lot of money to upgrade - selling and replacing Vecino and Gags, getting a LB/LWB, and another striker post Sanchez, Allegri can make this squad finish in top 2 next season.

Of course, a Pochettino would be better, but that would mean looking at a lot of changes as well.

We are in absolutely no position to take a risk therfore allegri would be the right choice, but I'd love to see how we'd do under de zerbi. Not even thinking about how the squad fits him, but he's such a good manager with a fantastic style of play

I agree Allegri is as flexible as a top coach can get these days, which is not saying much. If Conte does a rage quit, Allegri will be a sensible choice.

But I hope this situation get resolved, that is the best scenario for Inter. We are not through with the Conte project just yet. Ideally I would like to see Conte here for another 2-3 years and winning at least 1 scudetto.

Im kinda relaxed but slitghy annoyed it had to be dragged out public. When were finally building piece by piece in the right direction and get to the point were starting to look good ( with the arrival of hakimi aswell) and capitilize on it and go further in the right direction some shit has to happen THAT beeing said im kinda relaxed only beacuse surely Conte cant be that stupid.

LIke no serious club would touch him after this and he is smart enough to understand that. I ideally agree with Conte on the subject and hope for the best for Inter and that is for everything to be resolved and taking care of and then move on to get fcking world class midfielder as that is the missing piece for us winning the scuddeto.

As a Dane I'd like to see what Poch can do.
He has shown he can get the best out of Eriksen, and looking at how Spurs are doing now, he may have gotten the best out of the team available to him there.

If he could do the same at Inter, I smell silverware.

New coach this season? Allegri? More importantly what is the O/U on his leaving date? Side bets on when we can start hating him must only start after the first three games...

It would be interesting, but poch imo is too much of a risk. Problem with him, as it stands right now, you can only smell the trophies but not actually taste it, as we saw with tottenham. Alegri is much safer and smarter option in that regard.

Looking at Allegri's 5 years at Juve, if I saw good he used 6 different formations. Very flexible and tactical manager.

Those were: 3-5-2, 4-3-1-2, 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 3-4-3, 4-3-3

I would've locked this thread until further notice tbh. Not sure why we should entertain this bullshit around a new coach even more.

Fuck your freedom of speech :work:

I never expected Conte to complete his his contract. We just need to choose the best possible replacement.

This thread in particular should never be locked until we get a real coach like Mournio.

Is he good at choosing and using midfielders and fullbacks because most of the Italian coaches we hired were poor in this regard.

Media keeps saying it's more probable Conte quits than not. That's a bit strange IMO but also fucking horrifying scenario. Yet another coach change?

Allegri is a no-brainer choice because of his status, flexibility, familiarity with Marotta and of course availability.

Who else out there is going to pay him as much as we are? No way he walks away from that money. If he wants out he's going to try and force the club to sack him and then sue.
