Who do you (realistically) want to coach Inter next season?

Yes, but this is his chance to lead a big club. He needs to prove himself in difficult situation, if he wants to make a name as a coach.

His agent has hinted Motta would jump at the chance of coaching Inter. And why wouldn't he? Even in our current state Inter is a golden chance for Motta. The next logical step for him would be a club like Fiorentina, Atalanta or best case Lazio.

Motta doesn't strike me as a marotta signing though. Too much uncertainty and risk.

Personally, I'd give it 6 months before thiago becomes thiagone

Conte was an even bigger risk when he hired him at Juventus. Two promotions to Serie A with Bari and Siena and a terrible stint at Atalanta in Serie A.

I agree this kind of coaches rarely suceed at Inter.

Conte was mostly Agnelli's hire after rejecting him twice in earlier years.

Marotta back then wanted one of Gasperini and Spalletti but neither would go at the time. Gasperini ended up at Inter and we all know how it ended up.

I am 99% certain the next coach won't perform miracles because the squad will downgrade even further this summer. Inter will fight for an Europa League spot next season unless the competition downgrades as well.

But I would rather we have some coach that we are familiar with than someone everyone will blame and despise during a banter era. So if Inzaghi leaves Motta is a good choice.

Though he doesn't look like someone Marotta would go for the rest of the Serie A coaches are either ex Inter and sacked by Suning or Marotta (Pioli, Spaletti), ex Inter sacked before Suning (Gasperini), ex Inter this management didn't bring when they could (Mourinho).

Rest at the upper table clubs are Allegri and Sarri (now impossible cause they have long contracts elsewhere).

Choices like Dionisi, Italiano, and a few more similar to them would be considered risky and unproven by Marotta and tbh rightfully so. Juric is the best of these options but he is a foreigner so Marotta won't consider him and Inter don't hire foreigners since De Boer anyways.

Probably Motta would be the most obvious but I think Marotta will at least try for Conte cause he likes him and Allegri the most and you know if he could just choose them for the rest of his career he would do it.

Juric has been working in Serie A for years so he's probably considered "Italian" by our management.

20+ years spent in Italy as a player and manager. He’s probably more Italian than Croatian at this point.

Anyway when Inzaghi inevitably gets the sack, I’d say it’s down to Juric and Motta. Formation remains mostly the same under Juric except I believe he’s plays with one CF instead of 2. With Motta, we’d need quite the squad renewal to play how he does with Bologna. For a club as skint as Inter, that’ll be a tough ask to bring in wingers and the like. Unless of course ownership changes.

Wasn't that said the same for Inzaghi? Thanks but no thanks. Inter never has the patience required for unproven coach & talents, and unproven coach does not know how to win titles. He (like Inzaghi) never experience the pressure of winning the maximum number of points, but "just-enough" mentality of the small average teams. Bad combination.

Gasperini, De Boer, Strama and Inzaghi, now Motta or Juric? We need one with a winning profile, like Conte previously or Mourinho (well, the best we can afford).

De Boer and Strama are not good coaches, as long as Gasperini didn't have a proper chance really. Inzaghi is already 2 seasons as a coach, which is time enough for somebody to prove his worth. And he is not a bad coach or something. We just don't have the money enough to buy him players for his system to work. Even if he gets fired, he still will be remembered for his cups here, and will find a job without problem imo.

Nobody is going to pay Inzaghi more than us (5m iirc) so he is not tearing his contract. Especially when he does not have to work, lying on Ibiza to earn that money lol.

What a retard move to extend his contract too soon instead our key playets.

16 minutes in and Calhanoglu and Barella have about 9 seconds of time on the ball, combined. Mkhitaryan has misplaced a handful of passes though so there's that.
