DONE DEALL! (?)

This morning's rumors from Marca have been confirmed by Sky: Inter is in advanced talks with Pepe, Real Madrid experienced centre-back whose contract is next to espire. Piero Ausilio agreed personal terms with the player, who's expected tojoin the Nerazzurri after a 10-years period at the Blancos. The sports director waits only for the green light from Suning, but the Chinese owners have yet met the agent Jorge Mendes.

Wait, I thought we had money now? Why not buy good players, or defenders not in their mid 30s?

Controversial one but I'm all for it. He's still top class and a proven winner. Of course discipline could be an issue with the refs against us but I think this is a good signing for us.

According to most sources, it's basically a done deal and the only thing missing is the ok from Suning (or maybe from Sabatini). However, Pedulla reports that's not the case. There's an offer from Inter to Pepe for a 2 year contract but there's no agreement yet as our priority is getting a new coach.
I don't like that deal at all. If he ends up at Inter i hope he proves me wrong.

And. We thought Melo would get a lot of red cards. Refs will be lining up to send him off. Hell, I would. He's a proper cunt.

Does this mean he'll replace Miranda or to play along side him? It better be the latter..

Old school defender so I approve actualy...this new defenders are mostly sissy dolls
If you loved Matrix you will love Pepe too_Ok he is 34 but he is an experienced defender and those do rather well in Italy.
He was leading Portugal very well in the Euros I thought, very composed not nervous like in the past
He is certainly better than Medel or Murillo

Miranda-Pepe is pretty much Lucio-Samuel like tbh...

sigh...
Vidic 2.0.

I really don't get what this club's fixation with has beens. If they were following some tried and tested formula that has yielded success in the past, that would at least be understandable, but they're not. We're never going to get anywhere with signings like these.

Add a poll, does he turn out like vidic and turn out completely shit, or turn out like miranda and turn to shit after a season and a half

People didn't want Lucio either...
But Mou made him in to a terminator...It's up to the coach to maximise the players potential and our past coaches are not rly winners...the closest to a winner we had in Manshitni who won some domestic cups but we know under what circumstances.
Good players need good coaches...
FdB had some success with Ajax but his football was always destined to fail here...he has football which Ajax,Barca are accustomed to not a club which changes coaches every few months... Teaching players a new brand of football on the 8 August when preseason is already done...
Pioli is not cut out for big clubs we saw clearly...
Pepe is nothing like Vidic...Vidic came here already broken
Pepe still has some needed vitality in him

Comparisons with Vidic are spot on. Comparisons with Felipe Melo are also spot on.

Come on, Suning, this ain't the time to be cheap getting Pepe on a Bosman, spend your damn 150 million!

What options should we put?

Do you want Pepe?

No, he'll be the Vidic.
No, we should go for someone not in their mid-30's.
Yes, he's better than Murillo/Medel/Andreolli
Yes, his experience is useful for a backline that has won fuck all and look clueless at times.

Not even comparable.

Lucio was 30/31 at the peak of his career. Pepe is 34 and declining, 1 year younger than Palacio.

That was Mourinho, and Lucio was his request to fit his plans.

Who has requested Pepe? We don't even have a manager right now!

Pepe signing as a free agent is a great move that show's good way of thinking. This is Sabatini move, im sure.
