Paulo Dybala

Imagine you`re in Ausilio/Marotta`s shoes, would you offer Dybala a contract?

  • Yes - unlock defences and add value: creativity, individual brilliance, attacking outside the box

  • No - serious doubts about his fitness and contribution when it matters the most

Maybe he wants 8m because he's the guy who made Dybala reject all other moves?

Well we will probably never know but what is probable is he's not gonna see those 8m€ either. Maybe 7m€, but not 8m€.

Sounds like AC Milan wasn't digging the agent's fee either

He would be useful tactically but not a huge deal although I still think he is coming, shit is way too silent for this not to happen

I do not think it is happening because we are not going to be able to shipout Sanchez, Dzeko and/or Correa.

I do not the truth of the rumours but there was a report a couple of days ago that Sanchez has taken offence at the club's stand and decision to move him on. As for Dzeko, I have heard rumours of clubs being interested but it has not gone any further than that.

What really stands out for me at the moment is that our plans for the future, especially where Dybala are concerned, very much depend on the departures of one of Sanchez or Dzeko and what we all know is that it is hard for players to leave when their wages are so high.

If they decide to dig their heels in as a result of feeling that the club is mistreating them, or decide to stay simply because they know no other club will match their current wages, then Dybala's potential move will be sabotaged.

The dynamics here are also very interesting. For example, the fact Dybala allegedly does not want any other club. Is that down to the fact that we are in the Champions League; the chance of playing alongside his fellow countrymen; or a sign that he wants to exact revenge on Juventus by playing for their greatest rivals?

Also, the fact that he has not been linked to any other club might be down to: (1) him not wanting to go anywhere else; or (2) his agent's exorbitant fees have put off other potential suitors.

There is also the added pressure of Milan waiting in the wings even though he would in all likelihood be too expensive for their strict wage structure.

Just on Milan, whether they are a real option or not is not really the point. The pressure is psychological: just like with last season's Scudetto, they could creep up on us and take what we thought was ours. And in the context of Dybala, who is a player that we really want that would be a significant upgrade on what we had last season.

If Pedulla is starting to backtrack it’s a) very embarrassing for him and b) this ain’t fucking happening
Why it's embarrassing? Things change in mercato constantly. Maybe he's getting vibes now from his sources that Inter won't back down, won't raise their offer. That obviously leaves the possibility that the agent won't accept this and they look for another avenues.

Isn't an agent compelled to follow their client's instructions? I am thinking of this more in the sense of a legal relationship when a solicitor acts on behalf of a client.

Agents are appointed to represent a client but if their interests clash, for example Dybala only wanting Inter and the agent wanting his large commission and possibly pushing for a move elsewhere, then they need to part ways as the client's instructions clash with those of the agent.

If the agent does not accept it, he will have to stand down.

I think it's embarassing because he's been very vocal about Di Marzio and co. presenting a different version of events constantly, while he's always been quite sure that this deal would happen. But eh, can't say I'm overly invested in Pedulla's reputation, I'd just quite like Dybala to play for Inter.

Now that Lukaku has officially arrived, Dybala becomes a surplus and unnecessary signing. Two of Dzeko, Correa, and Alexis are more than sufficient to backup our frontline and it much better than paying 6 M/year for injury-prone player who sits duck on the bench. I am totally fine either if we don't sign Dybala or his camp lower their demand even more until it is too good to refuse.
