Why would we need to start experimenting something, when we could just buy younger players to the current system we are using right now?

Backup plans are never bad, but we should address our needs for our system which have generated us tons of goals in the past 1.5 seasons.

Indeed. The club has been very good at establishing the system when Conte arrived and picking managers and players who fit it ever since. Who wants to be in the position of Juventus or Man United who bought players to suit Manager A only to sack him and bring in Manager B who plays a very different style, rendering much of the squad they inherit as not fit for purpose?

You can keep the core 352 philosophy and tweak within that framework, just as has happened over the years anyway. Pavard and Bisseck are very different RCBs to Skriniar and Thuram is a very different forward to Lukaku and Dzeko. What should never be compromised is the human qualities of the signings who need to be modest, professional and hard working to fit the broader ethos.

I cannot claim to have seen too much of Guler, but I do not necessarily have the impression he is a natural fit for our style despite his obvious talent. I saw him as a wide player in a 433 or a number ten in a 4231. I had a look at his season heatmap to see if that was accurate and it's not far off.

Now compare to the equivalent from Denzil Dumfries and it shows the Turk is almost exclusively attack orientated.

Yeah but that's playing in a different system.

If we had to choose - paying 20M more for Paz is better than going for Baturina. But it depends on how much the cost of both would be. I don't think we can get Paz for less than 40M and even that might be too much. Just like 30M for Baturina would be too much.

If it's Paz vs Guler, they are so different that it depends more on what Inzaghi prefers (and again, Paz will probably cost twice more)

Carlo Ancelotti: “Nico Páz is our player, we’re constantly monitoring his progress in Italy… we will decide about his future at the end of the season”.

“He’s doing excellent at Como but we didn’t have any doubt. He’s a very good player”.

Ancelotti should shut the fuck up.

And let Paz come to Inter.

Real Madrid is the only deciding factor here. Every day I find it harder to get him here its maybe better to even abandon this obsession. If they want Nico this summer they will get him. They have no problem integrating youngsters into their star studded lineup as most of their mid to attack have been brought in fairly young. Asencio just came out of nowhere and is bossing with Rudiger etc. Nico is not a Milan's Jimenez , who they will never bring back. Nico is already on another level.

Its the dream of any player to be in Real Madrid. Inter's only pull is Zanetti telling his father telling his son that at Inter you will be a regular player sooner than at Madrid and with a clause there's always a trajectory to Madrid again.

The idea to spend 30-40 mils on a player, who will be a sub to 40 year old Mikhy anyway and with Real Madrid having the green light to pull the plug on Inter's new shiny toy on any given moment. It sounds crazy.

I just wanna say that if anyone watches three 90 minute games of Nico Paz and Arda Guler, you will come to the conclusion that Nico Paz doesnt come close in terms of Talent and Potential.

That being said, i dont see how guler fits our team

I'm not really seeing anything reported about that elsewhere so I'm ignoring that for now.

Where are you finding this?

I doubt Baturina would be more than 20.

And yeah I would rather pay 40 for Paz then 20 for Baturina.

Well, there was me confidently stating just a couple of days ago that while I did not necessarily see Paz going to Inter, I certainly did not expect him to stay at Como where he will be carrying a team that can expect mid-table next season at best. It's a cautious approach from Madrid which is to be lauded in some ways I guess (giving him time and space to develop without pushing him on to the next level too quickly), but it's also them waving away 20m euros profit this summer.

I've thought the team needs two new midfield signings anyway, ideally to replace Asllani and Frattesi but also to cover for the expected decline of Miki. We're not exactly stacked in this department this season with just six for three places, and only four of them being genuinely useful.

Where Italian football is anything north of 20 million that player has to start at least half the games. If we’re gonna spend 40 we need a nailed on starter. I don’t watch much Rovella but unless we sell Hanna I don’t see that happening.

Lazio skinned us alive for Correa, in retrospect, who knows how much they'll ask for a real domestic talent.

I don't think anything is decided yet, no matter what Romano or Di Marzio reports at this point.

But as I explained earlier, that scenario of staying at Como is one possibility. Let's hope it's not gonna happen, Ancelotti stays, Real extends Modrid for one more year and so on and so on. :D

🚨🇦🇷Nico Paz, his father Pablo: "I think if you ask Nico what he would like to do, he would definitely like to stay another year at Como , because he feels great, he is happy, and with Fabregas it is like being on a university master's degree. He likes everything here, the team, the group, the people. I would agree too. Then of course, there are higher interests at stake, but another year here would be ok. Zanetti ? No, Javier and I are very good friends, we were roommates in the national team, imagine that. A meeting between friends, we see each other every now and then"
