What I've been saying for some time. Specially on Inter's side, the stadium project seems to be just bluffing to get a leverage against Sala and the council. Nothing tangible has happened with the Rozzano project for quite some time.

With Zhangs it was almost obvious that they cannot build it since how could they? Would banks lend them money? I doubt it. Oaktree could surely get money from banks but then comes the issue of the revenue projections. Is it really WORTH IT to build your own stadium? There would be questions like the cost of money (which is not insignificant these days) and how much could they bump up the ticket prices?
Does anybody here knows:
How much (per season) we pay to play on GM?
How much (per season, aproximately) we have from ticket sale?

#Inter and Milan intend to build a new stadium in the San Siro area. The two clubs will soon present an official expression of intent for a project that would include a new stadium, development of the surrounding area and a plan for the redevelopment of the San Siro stadium. - Sky Italia

Yeah they met with two ministers and they also should have the thing settled with the authorities who wants to preserve the 2nd ring in San Siro.

Now they the wait is about evaluating the value of the San Siro and the district.

That shouldn't take longer than 5 years.

If you search the word wait in this thread I am sure you will find it in half of the posts

The Revenue Agency is expected to provide an estimate of the purchase price in the first ten days of November.

Unexpected. 5 years sounded more credible than 20 days.

@CafeCordoba According to Gazzetta, the Italian Tax Office will inform the Milanese clubs that the worth of the San Siro area, including the Stadio Meazza, is €200m. Milan’s municipality owns the stadium and the surrounding areas.
The pink paper quotes’ government sources’ and says that clubs will receive a formal communication between the end of October and the start of November.

EDIT: Meanwhile Marotta was asked about the on-going situation at San Siro, following news that Inter and Milan are back in negotiations to build a new single arena effectively in the car park of the current Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
“It is first and foremost an historic event, because two Ministers sat down at a table with the Mayor and the two owners of the clubs. It is a sign that politics wants to accelerate this process too.

“Oaktree consider the new stadium to be a strategic asset which can generate fresh revenue for the club. It can also help create a sense of belonging and fidelity to guarantee using the space outside of matchdays.”

Scaroni stated this after the meeting:
“It was a high-level meeting in which we overcame the problem posed for months by the conservation of San Siro’s second tier.

“We can build a new stadium here, in the San Siro neighbourhood, preserving the second tier in the new building, which will come to life here, to replace the stadium where we are today.”

There is pressure on Italy with the stadiums as they risk losing NT competitions being played there in the future.

As usually Italy only starts acting when the shit hit the fan. San Siro lost the cl final and Italy risk losing the euros.

Don Beppe on the stadium:

“As president, I cannot back down, and I share Scaroni’s words.

“Today, the stadium represents an important aspect for enhancing the sense of belonging to a club; it is the home of a society and a place for gathering.

“Football is a strong social phenomenon, and inside the stadium, there are tens of thousands of people; Inter and Milan average 70,000 people per match.”

Meanwhile, Marotta underlined the clubs’ plans for the San Siro.

“The goal is for the stadium not to be a cathedral in the desert used only once a week but a daily place to visit as well as a very important economic asset.

“Oaktree, like Elliott and RedBird, understands the importance of the stadium, and it is right to try to reach a conclusion.

“Italy is at the bottom for the quality of its structures; this is a priority and necessary need to ensure that every club can have continuity and provide fans with an environment they can fully feel is theirs.”
He also confirmed that this task is the responsibility of Antonello

I’m team buy out Giuseppe Meazza and renovate at this point. It’s an historic ground and still one of the very best atmospheres in all of football. Renovating probably isn’t the better long-term financial investment but fuck it— it’s iconic. Buying the stadium, solidifying the structure and some minor renovations can’t cost much more than building an entirely new fancy stadium with plastic ornate bullshit. Let Meelan move out to the burbs with their knockoff Tottenham stadium.
