🚨🎙️ President Marotta on building a new stadium:

“We need a home. Right now we have San Siro, which we share with another team, but a stadium for #Inter only would strengthen that great sense of belonging within the club, which is so important.

We are doing everything we can to make this dream come true, the dream is both ours as well as the fans’. We are fighting with the authorities that are dragging out the time.“ 🏟️ @marifcinter

I would still prefer a solution together with Milan. Marketing wise this is a USP to have two of the best clubs in their country and Europe play in one stadium. You don’t experience that anywhere else on this level.

What Sala didn't mention is that both clubs are still going forward (or not forgetting) the alternative solutions, meaning their own stadium projects.

To be frank the alternative solution seem more like the GM one

Once again fuck salah that dumb son of a bitch as if that was news...... Both us and BBilan have been trying to get such a deal from the city but they have always blocked everything... To now act like it s news that the two clubs would like to stay in san siro is just fucken pathetic...
If he and his predecessors would not have blocked us at every fucken attempt we would already have a new stadium in the san siro district.

Bunch of pathetic incompetent fucks who just now when both us and bbilan have somewhat concrete plans to leave realize how bad they fucked up and how bad it would reflect on them if both clubs move out of the city.

God damn I might hate politicians from all sides more than i hate jubentinos...

Clubs didn't have the leverage back then. Then they realized they need it, they got it and now we are here.

Issue with the new stadium might the revenue projections. If it costs over 1bn, I'm not sure if it's financially a feasible project, specially if there's another new stadium + San Siro in the same city.

Why the hell this stuff is walking around in a fucking circle...again. Look at the age of the thread, 20 years old isn't enough?

Giuseppe Meazza - consider building a new stadium - discuss - consider buying GM - discuss - staying - renovating - consider - discuss....

That shit is holding us (and Milan) from serious competition. Discuss to eternity with zero done. Just move on from Salah, show a middle-finger and let him alone with all the paperwork ffs.

Honestly the situation back then was the exact same the city has no use for a football stadium of this size if nobody is playing football in it. Onlly difference is back then we did not have a true project outside the sansiro and the city had not just built a brand new tram line there.
But the fact that it s a unnecessary stadium unless one of inter or bbilan play there has been true even back then. Like they have pther concert venues such as the ippodromo...

All it has been these last years is a fucken power play by politicians some want to gain popularity by helping us others want to try and stop it depending on what they think their base wants.....
Again if they were sane they would have said look here you can have the stadium for a simbolic price of 1 euro there for you have to renovate it and help develop the whole fucken area. But no both clubs first have to invest time and money to get other projects up and running and only when they realize they might loose both clubs they come crawling back with some kind of propositin on how to renovate where we had no to very little imput?

This is a desperate attempt by Sala to keep the clubs paying.

Better don't fall for it.

They will look as fools once both clubs leave the stadium, with all the costs and no revenue falling into the mayor's office.

It's just not that anymore. Their desperation is real, given there are rumors they'd be willing to sell the stadium and the land around it to the clubs (or lease for a long, long time). Given the restrictions by whoever, they can't raze Meazza to the ground, but proper renovation and usage of the land around it for commercial purposes, that might be the way to go. If the cost of all that is maybe 500M€, split that for both clubs and it's much more affordable.

I'm sure the clubs are really thinking about it vs both clubs investing 1bn€ for their own stadiums.

Let's see how long will this drag on. :D

How do you know that the separate stadiums weren't just a ruse to obtain leverage against sala re san siro? If they are so intent on leaving why has no progress been made on either front and why do they keep entertaining san siro renovations?

Honestly, I don't. It might be that they are playing chess.

I mean just look at the authorities trying everything in their powers to block our cousins:

UNESCO appeal could block Milan new stadium project

Another large obstacle has been thrown in the path of Milan’s plan to build a new stadium in San Donato, as local authorities appeal to make it a protected UNESCO zone.

The Rossoneri have drawn up a project to build their own venue outside the city limits, in the San Donato area, while Inter have similar plans in Rozzano.

However, it has been beset by the same problems that stalled so many Italian clubs in their attempts to build new infrastructure, namely red tape and the refusal of many local authorities to have such a large event space in their back yard.

San Donato plans stall Milan stadium
It was revealed today that San Donato’s local council set aside €36,000 in order to appeal for the area of Chiaravalle to be considered a UNESCO world heritage site.

That would effectively ban major work from being performed, but the application process alone is expected to take seven or eight years.

Simply having that threat hanging over them could force Milan to stall their plans or look elsewhere.
Authorities have everything to lose if clubs build their own.

To the first, we'll get to know the last season's numbers in November when the financial reports come out (someone can calculate from the quarter reports from last season).

To the second, no. :D

San Siro is a going to be a ruin soon and it barely lasted 100 years.
