My Blackhawks have started the season pretty sloppy, probably suffering from a cup hangover and some roster turnover.

Some teams are really hot early on, like Avs and Sharks. Sharks look like the early favorites for the Cup tbh.

Eriksson is out indefinitely after this nasty elbow/shoulder from Scott. There's widespread outrage over this cheap shot in which the head was the primary point of contact. The NHL could send a message to other goons in the league by giving Scott a lengthy suspension even though its technically his first offence.

Sharks 4 game losing streak,

Not too surprised, this is normally how our season goes. Probably end up with a 6th seed or something by the end of the season.

Has anyone noticed how shit Craig Anderson has been for the Senators this season? Last year he was one of the best goalies, and this year he's not in the top 35, I reckon. Josh Harding has been great in goal for Minnesota Wild, but he's changing his medicine or treatment for Multiple Sclerosis and is going to be out of action for a month-ish. Real shame, considering how amazing he's been playing.

Quite underwhelmed by Phaneuf this year, as well as Chara. As a Leafs fan, I had such great expectations about Phaneuf coming out this season and being one of the best defense-men in the league, but he's really been average at best. Duncan Keith has been pretty much perfect at the back for the Blackhawks, and long may it continue because I have him in my fantasy team!

In attack, Stamkos was doing so well until he went and got himself injured! The expected stars like Ovie, Crosby, Malkin, Kane are all doing well, but there have been some real surprises in attack, like Alexander Steen from St. Louis who has been awesome, and his attacking partner Backes has been equally as impressive for the 'Notes this season. Former Leaf, Clarke MacArthur is having a great season, also, and it's a shame that Carlyle let him go/fell out with him.

Saw Lothar's local team today... the Winnipeg Jets looked horrible in a 1-0 loss.

That was one of the first games I had a chance to watch them for some time now. They weren't great but played a solid road game against a superior opponent. I agree SJ was the better team, but they scored a weak winner. The Jets didn't generate enough shots on the SJ backup. Really impressed with how quick SJ pressures the puck.

Winnipeg has gone 6-1 with the new coach, with tough wins against Anaheim and Chicago. That Leafs game was fun to watch the other night.

And my Habs have gone stone cold.

It was weird to see them miss so many passes in person. I saw they're hot... but they looked meh straight up. Stalock on the otherhand is (finally) getting more playing time. He's played better than Niemi when watching the games. Not say he should be the #1, but I'm happy McLellan has taken note that he's been playing better to earn more starts.

Two dudes I went to college with (Tanner Glass and Lee Stempniak) had big games for the Penguins tonight, playing together in the NHL at the Verizon Center for the first time. Really cool to see it go down. Used to hang out with those dudes at their frat house.

Glass brought his usual scrappy game with great D and Stempers posted two assists.

I liked watching Glass when he played for the Jets. Good hard nosed player.

Jeezus, its surprising how fast a team like the Canucks can go from the top and crash and burn in such a short period of time. Far too many parallels with the situation we have with Inter (Win-now mentality from the ownership-management, incompetent coaching, veterans with no-movement clauses signed to long-term contracts, few valuable assets). What both teams need is a complete rebuild with a focus of developing youth, along with a management group with clear, communicable plans for the future.

His (ex?)-gf was a student teacher in the high school I went to a few years prior. :p

I invaded Canada for the first time since the early 90s... and after attending the Canucks game against the Rangers, I never thought I'd see such a plastic group of fans. Holy damn

Flyers fans are the best in hockey!!! I mite be biased since I love the flyers, but I highly suggest going to a flyers game at least once lol, preferably playoffs...

speaking of the flyers, they are actually doing well for such a shitty start and a new coach. They are going toe to toe with some of the biggest teams. (outplaying boston, playing well against the blues, losing both in shootouts, beating pens, blackhawks, and the blues the first game) I just hope they find their peak form in the playoffs, assuming they make the playoffs...
