It would be a bad deal but better than having him for a season and losing for free.

I don't give a fuck about alienating. If Skriniar doesn't want to sign the renewal, sell him. For lower price which is still quite big for us give our owners' complete inability to support this club.

In the end Skriniar said last June he wants to be our Hamsik. Fast forward to August and he has the PSG contract on his table (after we've been shopping him yes). If you don't have the renewal signed, the Hamsik guy signed, you sell him. I don't understand why Zhang blocked the sale.

The problem is that Skriniar is also not so great this season.

Exactly. Milenkovic or Demiral or somebody else. If we sold Skrinar, we would have had a replacement and some money left. Now, we are in much worse position.
We are about to make the same mistake Bastoni with. I love the guy, buy if we cannot resolve the new contract, I'd sell him in a heartbeat in the summer.
Dumfries and D'Ambrosio are even more shittier over Skriniar this season. Bellanova looks too green for inter fans and inzaghi.

Yes, the "he" part is about Zhang.

As for selling Skriniar for 55m, I don't care how many years he had left in his contract, it'd be a bad deal. Just because Marotta managed to alienate yet another of our star players doesn't mean that not selling him was wrong.

If anything, the main problem here is Marotta mishandling our players.

He diminished whatever value Nainggolan had, he purged Icardi (at least we got something for him, even if it was a discount of what we could have gotten if he wasn't mishandled), he lost Perisic. Twice, sort of. He almost lost Brozovic. He's losing Skriniar. His bad handling turned De Vrij into a cone. He shopped Bastoni, Barella and Lautaro around for roughly 2 seasons.

How can I not point out the fact that Marotta has a tendency to fuck things up when it comes to our main players?

If this were under a previous regime, we'd be looking to find ways to get rid of Dumfries, Correa, Gosens, Gagliardini and whomever else we deemed unnecessary, and at the same time not lose more key players after that Hakimi sale. But instead we have a firesale that downgrades us. You can blame Zhang, surely, but the executive here is Marotta. People forget that.
I'm not defending one eyed jack marotta, but he's hardly had the backing to protect our main assets , im confident that the orders from above are to obtain as much money as possible from selling key players with higher wages.

as for icardi well he signed his own exit permit his behaviour was not professional.

He wanted 80m instead of 55m.
Yeah but should we defend that position? No one was even close paying that for Skriniar when he has year left and the deadline was close.

The mistake was not to extend but at the deadline you sell for 55m if you don't have the extension signed.

The rejected 55m bid was not at the deadline, it was in late June/early July.

PSG never really increased their offer. And why would they? Their 55m was initially accepted by Inter, why would they care if there wasn't communication between ownership and management?

That doesn't change anything. If 55m is the last offer while at the deadline, you take it.

By that point no one wanted to sell Skriniar because of the lack of options to replace him.

Zhang's blame in not selling to PSG for that amount as far as I know ends in the early stages. Marotta was cleared to offer a new deal and he hesitated because he probably expected that PSG would increase their bid. It was poor handling by all accounts.

I hope that Zhang learned his lesson and he doesn't interfere anymore with that matter.

Don't you see the incredible irony in saying:
I don't give a fuck about alienating.

and then immediately afterwards, criticizing that:
In the end Skriniar said last June he wants to be our Hamsik.

The two things are completely incompatible. You don't care that a loyal player has been alienated and disrespected numerous times, yet you judge him and hold him to a statement he made expressing his desire to be loyal.

I know your brain is weird, but why is that karma??
because P$G had the chance to sign Skriniar in January and lowballed Inter instead of making a transfer for a fair price. Their defence got damaged and they got knocked out of UCL.

Skriniar has defended himself from the charge that he has in any way acted contrary to the wishes of Inter:
“I want to set the record straight that I have always followed all the medical advice given to me by Inter’s medical staff and their external specialists,” the Slovakian wrote on Instagram.

“Yesterday, Inter subjected me to another specialist appointment, which confirmed my diagnosis, and based on this, and in the presence of medical staff, I have started another round of treatments as recommended by the club’s trusted doctor,” he added.

GdS: Skriniar could potentially play against the Bianconeri in the Coppa Italia, or more realistically, against Salernitana in the league.
Inter are optimistic that defender Milan Skriniar will be fit and available in time for next month’s Champions League quarterfinal first leg match against Benfica.

Hey, Dario, look at your signature, when Juve gets their points back, we'll be 4th and in danger of losing the CL spot to Milan. It's eerily similar to a certain football club from North London in the last 10 seasons before they got their shit together. Hmmmm.

THE CLAUSE IN VERRATTI AND SKRINIAR’S PSG CONTRACTS THAT AFFECTS THEIR SALARIES DEPENDING ON GAMES PLAYED

Paris Saint-Germain have implemented clauses into all of the contracts they have recently handed out, including to Marco Verratti and Inter’s Milan Skriniar, that means salaries will depend on the number of games a player features in throughout the season.
According to Le Parisien, a player’s salary will be increased or decreased depending on the number of games they play in according to an ‘evolving percentage’.

The change in policy was brought in by Portuguese advisor to the club Luis Campos after consulting with a number of experts within the transfer market.

Verratti was one of the first players to sign a new deal for PSG under the new measures after what were reported to be a “tough” set of negotiations back in December.

The diminutive midfielder has played nine games out of a possible 15 for PSG since his renewal, although due to injury struggles in recent years, he has rarely been able to complete a full season of football for the club.

His extension means he is now contracted to the Parisians until the summer of 2026.

Le Parisien reports that Skriniar also agreed to a similar set of terms when negotiating his move away from Inter a few months ago.
It has been reported that before the “pay as you play” clause is factored in, the Slovak centre-half will earn somewhere in the region of €10m to €12m per year.

Wishful thinking: Inter management could learn from this.
At least they would not waste budget on the likes of Correa and Lukaku (for strikers I would set minimal salary and significant goal bonuses).

beggars cant be choosers.....
Who do ou think would still join inter if we did that? Also skriniar will still get 10 to 12 mio no matter how much he plays. Totally different situation to inter.

play some primavera to join the first team rather than old corpses. it's not like those old corpses make inter gameplay and stature on the highest table right now, i think those old corpses so far only gave more troubles, problems and wasted money for inter based on their expenses.
