INTER ULTRAS EXPLAIN WHY THEY HAVE ‘NO RANCOUR’ TOWARDS SKRINIAR

Inter ultras in the Curva Nord released a statement ahead of the derby with Milan explaining why they have ‘no rancour’ towards Milan Skriniar as he heads to PSG, instead blaming the club for ‘handling the situation badly.’

“Even if the Skriniar chapter is now partially past history, we still want to make it known that Milan wanted to clarify with us the reasons that took him to change shirt at the end of the season, despite the affection he has always shown for Inter,” read the pamphlet handed out at the Stadio Meazza this evening.

“Skriniar explained to us that last summer the club told him he would be put on the market and against his wishes he’d have to work to find himself a new club.

“After receiving interest from PSG and certain that Inter were going to sell him, he was made an offer by PSG that, once Inter changed their minds, his club was unable to match.

“Milan tried to lower his demands for the contract extension and move towards Inter to help them out, even being ready to give up on several million euros.

“So if once again in summary the reasons of the wallet surpassed those of the heart, we still don’t feel right crucifying a player who contributed to so many great achievements, and we invite anyone to show respect for the professionalism he has shown during his time in Milano.

“Looking at everything, it’s fair to say that the whole Skriniar situation has been handled badly and we hope that at the very least it can serve as a lesson for the future of this club.

“We have decided to look forward with Inter always in our hearts and without rancour towards a player who rightly should no longer wear the captain’s armband, but still deserves our respect for always giving his best on the pitch.”

Skriniar has reportedly turned down a proposal worth €6m per season including bonuses to remain at Inter, amid suggestions PSG are ready to pay him over €9m per season.

it's hilarious people think he's gonna turn into a clown and score own goals and pass the ball to opponents. he's a professional, he's gonna play until june and help the team as always.

Na, fuck him. He's obviously gonna score at least 5 own goals, let the fans satisfy their feeling instead of using their brain. It's more important to send a message than using your resource properly.

Yeah, he could have major problems in ligue 1 and especially cl.

Also, and I v been saying this even before we found out he is gone, sometimes he really ruins our fluidity in attack with clumsiness and poor ball control. Out of all our players, he is the most robotic in that sense, which often leads to other teams counterattacking us.

Whoever comes as his substitute hopefully is better than him in that regard, cause even more than some defensive mastermind we need someone who has technique and good passing ability given the football we play.

He has been the second worst defender after De Vrij this season, so its not a surprise he makes mistakes. Thank god Leao was not in the game before.

I wouldn't mind him commences together with Darmian in games like this, where Dumfries could be a liability. But otherwise, he should relegate to a sub of Darmian

He should be a sub from now on. He is too clumpsy with the ball in his feet.
Dumfries-Darmian-Acerbi or De Vrij-Bastoni-Dimarco is ok

Renewal saga-aside his performance has dropped significantly this season. Darmian is not the perfect solution but at least he provides a bit more speed and athleticism there. Since there's rarely a Giroud/Lukaku-sized winger in Serie A, I'm actually cool with seeing less of Skriniar from now on. Same reason why I'd prefer to see Acerbi rather than De Vrij.

I couldn't believe how bad Leao beat him around the 80th minute. It was a complete de-pantsing.

We really need to find a CB with pace this summer to put on the right side.

true. We need at least one fast side defender. All of our guys are slow as shit. I am always afraid when they are up the field and we lose the ball.

Extremely disappointed with his contract situation and even more so with how his form has been going since his first breakout season here.

For all that much potential and love from fans, I did expect much more from his performances.

The copium here is maybe he's trying to make his departure easier to swallow for the fans.

Skriniar is still a footballer, not a criminal, a terrorist, or a bootlicker. of course he must serve himself as a footballer to the club.

I think he looked way off in terms of how he usually plays. Maybe he already regrets his decision because the atmosphere was amazing yesterday. Hé also could be a little tensed because of the situation and his first home game after the news came out.
