Hakimi didn't double his salary (it was 5M at Inter, 8M at PSG), but at least he got to play with Neymar, Mbappe and Messi, took a starting spot (obviously) and never gave it away. Skriniar has been a total disaster for PSG, massive salary (got 10m, could have got 6m from Inter) and can't keep up, no one wants him there. Missed CL final, glorious 2nd star season. Just for some milions more to his bank account.

Skriniar
@Materazzi_23 you wanted me to stir things up on Skriniar thread. Here we go. ;)

Ffs not like this!

If and it's a big if he goes to Juve he makes it hard to still love him. On the other hand I understand a professional consideration because he has to play. It doesn't seem to me that only Juve is interested so he should just go play for a few million less at another club. As others have indicated, he made a choice that turned out very unfortunate. He who burns himself must sit on the blisters.

Skriniar in a Juventus shirt would make me sick.

I know. Thats my point.

Its a professional sport, its a commercial world, if we had a legitimate footballing need for Skriniar, I wouldnt sabotage the quality of the team just to spite him (ASSUMING that the squad harmony was also fine with him coming back).

Same way I have no beef with hiring Marotta, or someting like that.
Marotta and co. wanted Lukaku back even tho he was acting like a child  I agree, if Skriniar was to be the best solution to our mid CB problems, Marotta would at least consider it. The bigger question is how far from his best is Skriniar and how long would he need to get back to that level

Lukaku left to Chelsea on good terms. Relationship was always good until the whole fiasco with trying to resign after the loan spell.

Skriniar on the other hand left the club on bad terms. Complete different situation.

Beppe rarely misses a chance to throw digs at Skriniar when he talks about commitment and the sense of belonging of other players. There's no chance Skriniar is ever coming back as long as Beppe is around.

Also next summer Jonathan Tah and Olivier Boscagli could be available on a free. These are the players we should be targeting.

I'm aware of that. Hakan did somewhat similar with Milan, and so did Inzaghi.

To be fair to Hakan, that happened way too often at Milan that we can believe Milan was the problem.

That wouldnt change much if he was still at Inter...
Exactly. Yes, maybe he's gonna make A LOT more in Saudi-Arabia. But you're still in a fucking good position even with let's say 5M net salary.

This guy had everything in front of him. Was about to become Inter club captain, could have made it to the CL final and then be part of the legendary 2nd star season. Adored by the 70k fans of Giuseppe Meazza.

But he chose few more millions per year.

Don't have one.
For some players good position means only to earn more and that's it. Not everyone needs love from the fans, and I think skriniar is one of those players. I highly doubt he gives a single fuck about inter or what could have been. He is probably over the moon by the fact he is going to saudi coz his bank account is just getting bigger.

Yeah maybe now. But when he was here, I don't buy it at all, he didn't care about the fan affection and club captaincy. His agent that talked him into the money shit because the club wanted to sell him.

The PSG money wasn’t life altering for him. This money might be. I get the whole rich is rich thing, but there’s flight first class money and fly private for the rest of your life money.

They’ve been giving out the latter in Saudi. Not sure if Skriniar will get that though seeing as he’s not a flashy name.

So I dont think he could have predicted it at the time, but to be honest, he'd have made more money, ultimately, staying at Inter. You can play at a top level until you're 35-ish in Italy, and with Inter on the up he was only ever going to increase his profile. PSG isnt a club where defenders build up a big reputation. Our salaries are increasing, too, and to be blunt, on his salary already, if he's not stupid with money, that's fuck you/retirement money. If he is stupid with money, going from 5m net to 9m net makes really little difference.

I reckon he'll do 2, maybe 3 years in Saudi before going to some minnow-ish club in Europe on a mediocre salary. At Inter he could have made maybe 50mil in the next 6 years if he'd stayed. That's ignoring t-shirts and sponsorships, which undoubtedly would have added ontop as well, esp if he was made Inter captain.
