I do not mind him playing against Torino but he should not be trusted to play in the Champions League final.

We have done well without his contribution and I do not see why we should rely on a player that has not played for three months, who lacks match fitness and whose head and heart are already in Paris.

There’s no way he’ll be able to get up to match speed in order to play any meaningful minutes in the final. That being said, if we’re desperate for a defensive reinforcement toward the end of the match and I’m looking at D’Ambrosio, De Vrij, or Gagliardini on the bench… I might just take a punt on Skriniar.

He played 8 games in the CL and 21 in the Serie A so ofcourse he had his part in our succes. The shade and negativity he gets on FIF is insane. Especially because we don't know for 100% sure what has happened.

He deserves to be in the squad (if he's fit) after his service all these years.

He deserves to be on the bench, for sure. I have no nostalgia about this - I want the team that is most likely to win us the CL. My biggeest concern with Skriniar is match fitness, he's basically not played for like 4 months. Any significant game time would be a potential risk.

Having him health as an option doesn't work in anyway. The only concern I have is his rustiness and the ability to defend the half space and the crosses that lands behind him on the blind spots. Very crucial things against Pep's city.

He was always more of an exceptional marker than a space zonal defender.

There are reasons why darmian seems more capable, it is the role in the system, but against man city I am not sure if his body can keep up.
