Yeah though he got off easily not getting a yellow
Yeah, he's always ready to put the boot in. Surprised more yellows or a red weren't shown yesterday with 24 fouls by Inter and 14 by AC. The level of physicality by Inter threw them for a loop especially in the first half. The level of of outright thuggery, however, was on their side, but then again I'm biased.

Huge fan of him giving people the Samuel treatment - kicking the ever living shit out of them once at the start of the game. Did it with Leao, did it with Kvicha.
It really set the tone and tempo of the game early on, on our terms. While Milan have some quality (lets be honest, they did win the scudetto after all), they lack in height and physicality a lot. We did well to use it to our advantage.

I'm bummed that he didn't lift the trophy because I really wanted to see that, but I knew something was off when I saw him whispering something to DiMarco when he was pushed to the front of the podium. I'm happy for Handa because this is likely the last trophy of his career, but still wanted to see Skriniar because he deserved it... and this might be his last time too for Inter.

Exactly my thoughts. I was ready to film it so I could have a good memory but maybe it just shows who he is as a person. Handanovic is after all the first captain of the team even though he doesn't play but this just means there is a lot of respect between the players and they are a team.

No need to rush, there are still 6 months in which the club can underpay Skriniar before actually giving him the raise :yao:

This is not a troll post, im just genuinely asking how did Skriniar deserve to wear the captain armband before Barella?

Just look at Skriniar's expression. I know i am delusional but i can't imagine this guy leaving.

I mean he has all the power in negotiation

6 million isn’t minimum wage.

Maybe he wants more bonuses or maybe for management to tell him our ambitions. Or he wants us to get better players….

Who knows

If it a money thing we can’t compete with an oil rich team who will offer him 2x what he makes now.

If it’s Psg or an EpL team offers 10+ and we can only offer 6-7. I mean I get why he takes the money.

Chance of winning champions with PSg unless they sign Zidane as coach is just as bad as our chances.

What eddy said with the exception of Icardi we usually gave it to our longest serving player who starts...
Technically should be Brozo

This is not a troll reply, I can also ask why would Barella deserve to wear the captain armband before Skriniar?

Just my 2 cents
I think it comes down to what makes a good captain/leader:
  1. Caring - Just like the oldest, you look after the younger ones; you should treat your teammates with respect; like think of how he let Handa lift the cup as the captain. Also from time to time, we can see Skriniar does care and look after others;
  2. Adverse scenario, the leader would step up; how many times did you see we are down or struggling, he made the save on the goal line and roared? Also keeping the fighting spirit without losing composure.
  3. Representation - he is like one of the iconic ones for us this era.
  4. Lead by example - his loyalty and work ethic - don't think I need to elaborate.
Not saying Barella won't make a good captain; like back in JZ era we had a lot of good captain materials, but they cannot all be captain. Sometimes it does come down to popularity, however, I personally think Skriniar has a more suitable personality for being Inter's captain.

I don’t read into Skriniar’s celebrations as being indicative of whether he stays or goes.

I think he genuinely loves the club but that doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy a new adventure. Especially since he won all he can with this group in terms of club ceiling.

Actually, Skriniar can now celebrate more! As he appears to be close to signing a big deal with PSG and got to be a club captain of this Inter team.

He will leave while it’s still sweet.

Reports coming out he said no to the contract offer. It's over. Take the armband off him again. No point.

Not blaming him at all. Shopped around all summer with an expiring contract. Management absolutely fucked this

Of course it's mostly the club's fault but I'll blame him as well. Can't help but feel he's finessed us.

Skriniar says ‘no’ to the new contract proposal from Inter.

As reported by Matteo Barzaghi, Skriniar, for now, has said ‘no’ to the offer to renew his contract with Inter. But it's not the final decision.

Very important news at Inter regarding the negotiation for the contractual renewal of Milan Skriniar: the Slovak defender, in fact, according to what was reported by Matteo Barzaghi, informed the Nerazzurri club through his agent, Roberto Sistici, that he did not accept, as of now, the renewal offer submitted by Inter several weeks ago.

Skriniar for now says ‘no’ to the renewal offer
Skriniar's decision is not yet a final one, but at least for the time being the former Sampdoria defender will not renew his contract. Inter will still keep the door open to the player in case of second thoughts. But the Nerazzurri club, is convinced that it has made the maximum effort for Skriniar, will also have to evaluate any substitutes for the future, given the concrete possibility of losing a player who has been very important in recent seasons.
The offer (considered not negotiable by the Nerazzurri) that Inter had formulated for some time in the meetings with the camp of Skriniar was about 6 million euros per year plus bonuses (which can therefore even reach 6.5 million). Skriniar's initial request, on the other hand, was for a salary of 8 million euros a year, a figure to which the Nerazzurri had made it clear that they could not arrive to.
Skriniar's stats in the Inter shirt

Milan Skriniar, who has been an Inter player for five and a half seasons, has worn the Nerazzurri jersey 241 times, also scoring 11 goals. A farewell of his, therefore, would represent for Inter the loss of a decidedly important player, who has always been a starter in the Nerazzurri defense under three different coaches.

Skriniar is playing a very risky game. He's counting on Inter being desperate enough to raise the offer.

Don't have one.
Yeah, I think as much as this is on zhang and management, skriniar also wants to leave and try something new.

I'm not really worried about us being devastatingly weakened when he leaves, especially since inzaghi and his formation as of right now are here to stay, i m sadder that we will not see him again in his natural position in back four where imo he is truly a world class.

So he wants 8M that Inter wont offer.. bye then... also, no need for him to be captain anymore. Give it to someone that will actually be at the club next season.
